eREZEKI IN 11TH MALAYSIA PLAN (2016 – 2020)
11th Malaysia Plan Document (English), EPU, Chapter 3: 3-19
eRezeki identified as key
programme under the
Strategic Thrust 1 (Enhancing
inclusiveness towards an
equitable society) of the 11th
Malaysia Plan
Enhancing adoption of information and communication technology
The adoption of ICT will be accelerated to increase access to information on
agriculture, business, education and health, and expand business and income
earning opportunities to improve wellbeing. In this regard, the eRezeki
programme for B40 households will be expanded to enable the use of
ICT to generate additional income. Basic ICT training will be provided
before matching participants of the eRezeki programme with relevant jobs
such as data entry, price monitoring, and document translation. These micro-
tasks can be accomplished from homes or telecentres.
3. 4
WHAT IS eREZEKI PROGRAMME?
The eRezeki programme is based on crowdsourcing concept – with
specific focus on B40 as the “crowd” providing services to earn
additional / supplementary income
• Aims to benefit the Rakyat, especially the B40 by enabling
and connecting them digitally to income opportunities
• Participants will be profiled, trained, qualified and matched
against suitable tasks or work on digital platforms
Note: The term B40 (Bottom 40 percent of household based on income) refers
to individuals from household with monthly income below RM4,000/ month
