3. Introduction
• Man Environment interaction is how people adapt
to, depend on, and modify their environment.
• Questions come in our mind:
• How people adapt to their environment?
• How people depend on their environment?
• How people modify their environment?
4. Introduction
• How people adapt to their environment?
• Humans are generally adapt the environment to suit
themselves.
• we have air conditioning in hot countries and central heating
in colder countries.
• By wearing warm clothes in cold areas.
5. Introduction
• How people depend on their environment?
• Human beings depend on the environment to get resources,
such as water, shelter, food and clothing.
• The environment provides food since plants grow from the
soil.
• The environment provides this element through various ways
including rain, rivers, lakes and oceans.
6. Introduction
• How people modify their environment?
• Humans modify their environment in positive, neutral and
negative ways to obtain what they want for daily life.
• People make changes to the land so that crops grow better.
• Build buildings and other structures on the land.
7. Impacts of Man Environment Interaction
• There will be both positive and negative impacts of Man
Environment Interaction. Now we will discuss Positive
Impacts:
• Use of renewable energy resources:
• Planting trees
• Sustainable infrastructure development
• Recycling
• Creation of National Parks
8. Negative Impacts
• Following are the negative impacts of Man Environment
Interaction:
• Deforestation
• Water Pollution
• Land Pollution
• Climate Change
9. Deforestation
• Deforestation, clearance or clearing is the removal of a forest
or stand of trees.
• The land is thereafter converted to a non-forest use.
• Resulted in damage to habitat, biodiversity loss.
• Deforestation is a contributor to global warming.
• one of the major causes of the enhanced Greenhouse effect.
• The water cycle is also affected by deforestation.
11. Water Pollution
• Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies.
• when pollutants are directly or indirectly discharged into
water bodies without treatment.
• Affects the entire biosphere of plants and organisms living in
these water bodies.
• Water pollution is the leading worldwide cause of deaths and
diseases.
• Deaths of more than 14,000 people daily.
12. Land Pollution
• Land pollution means degradation or destruction of earth’s
surface and soil.
• Deforestation carried out to create dry lands is one of the
major concerns.
• Extension of cities and towns due to increasing population is
leading to further exploitation of the land.
• Land pollution also caused by the land fill contents.
• Follow Recycle rule.
• Buy Biodegradable Products.
13. Air Pollution
• Air pollution occurs when harmful substances including
harmful particulates and biological molecules are introduced
into Earth's atmosphere.
• Human activity and natural processes can both generate air
pollution.
• Pollutants are classified as primary or secondary.
• Due to air pollution in 2012 caused the deaths of around 7
million people worldwide(WHO).
14. Climate Change
• Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution
of weather patterns.
• Change lasts for an extended period of time (i.e., decades to
millions of years).
• Caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar
radiation received by Earth, and volcanic eruptions.
• Human activities have been identified as primary causes of
ongoing climate change.
