Dangerous substances contribute significantly to the 350 million
working days lost through occupational ill-health and to the
suffering of over 7 million people who are victims of occupational
illnesses in Europe*.

This is where we can help with solutions that minimise recordable
injuries, decrease lost work days and improve safety of the
workplace .
WETTASK* System is just one of the ways we can help
with chemical / solvent reduction.

Long-term health effects on the worker
• 19.4% of industrial workers are exposed to at least one chemical 10 hours or
more per week
• Many people are suffering from exposure to dangerous substances without
realising it
• VOCs are linked to lung and general respiratory diseases
• In the UK a survey identified 13% of respiratory diseases to be linked to airborne
materials from spray painting and related processes out of 129,000 respondents
(HSE executive report 10/2012)
Further Key Facts - H&S and Regulations
Regulation for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s)
has become more stringent, with a new EU directive
valid across Europe
• The SED limits facilities exceeding defined limits of VOC emissions (in tonnes per
year) after 10/2007 [Solvent Emission Directive 1999/13/EC (SED)]

Solvent wiping mostly occurs in surface preparation
tasks.
Rag and Solvent Plunger
• Inherent danger of splashes, & uncontrolled dispensing
• High solvent emissions at the point of application to a cloth
• Cloth may become over or under saturated
• Motion waste occurs, by workers having to walk to the dispensing unit.
Solutions Customer May Use Today
Pre-saturated wipes:
• Ready made solution which does help reduce VOC emissions vs. the
plunger system
• No flexibility in degree of saturation
• No flexibility in type of chemical used, if more than 1 chemical is required

Our solution:
We have collaborated with industrial manufacturers from around
the world and seen first hand the Occupational health & safety
challenges they face.
Our solutions have been engineered to address their very
specific needs of minimising recordable injuries, decreasing lost
work days and improving the safety of their facility by reducing
solvent exposure.

WETTASK* Wiping System allows workers to:
• Reduce solvent consumption as wipers are soaked with the right quantity for the task
• Reduce safety risks of spillage and flash risk due to antistatic base sheet
• Minimise over-processing waste, by up to 20% as less solvent is used, due to controlled dispensing
• Identify what is in the dispenser through use of visual management
• Modular dispensing ring design, to match versatile wiping task requirements
• Easy to carry
• Adjust saturation level controlling the amount of solvent delivered to the wiper
Why is this a winning proposition vs. Rags & Solvent
(Spray Buckets and/or Drums)?
WETTASK* contributes to the overall profitability of the business
by helping to achieve:
• Reduced environmental impact (lower solvent emissions)
• Reduced cost (cost associated with solvent consumption fines)
• Increased productivity by improving over-processing and motion wastes with better dispensing

Chemical Immersions / Chemical splash
High potential for splash or immersion to
unexpected vapors, gases, or particulates that
are harmful to skin or capable of being absorbed
through the skin. Chemicals may be in the form
of solids, liquids or gases.
Ergonomic hazard
This relates to the importance for the operator to
benefit from the right “fit’ between the operators
and their work in order to avoid potential injuries
associated with manual handling procedures,
incorrectly designed workstations, and the lack
of colour coding control mechanisms.
Using chemicals
Solvents like MEK, IPA are highly volatile and
will evaporate at extremely low tempratures (<10
C). This can cause inhalation of high levels of
VOC resulting in loss of productivity due to
exhertion and can cause long term health issues.
Large Surface Treatment
Working on large surface areas such as fuselage
can be time consuming and need to have the
right level of supplies at point of use to maintain
production schedule and reduce ‘motion’ and
‘over processing’ wastes.
Physical hazard
This includes a wide range of injury risks such
as falling from heights and tripping on obstacles.
Working on a plane fuselage might require the
worker to work at a certain height and for an
operator on a car assembly line it might mean
that machinery will get in the way at times
therefore presenting a potential for hazard.
