since the inception of the internet
Early stages of internet usage for most of
people cannot be accounted for – it was
considered a FUN platform.
It is a contemporary miracle to see how
internet has transformed and connected the
world (Social, Political, Demographic, etc. )

bars on the top right corner of their devices.

As a “Verb”; it means to interact socially for
the purpose of finding useful contacts or
personal advancement.

5. Social media has become an indispensable
aspect of life in contemporary times.
According to Shneider (2017), 92% of
teenagers are online everyday, and 71% use
more than one social network – In total, 31%
of the global population engages in social
media.

promotes digital inclusion; this means we are
responsible for a lot of people’s online
presence

We could do much better with our networks
both online and offline to improve
engagements across all our media pages.
7. Sensitization of program beneficiaries on the
need to extend same opportunities to their
network – (Sharing, Reposts, Retweets,
Comments, etc.)

informative materials on our websites and
media pages )
Attitude to work/engagement (See
engagements with Org’s content/pages more
as opportunities for your network than cheap
publicity)
8. More interactive and engaging social media
pages (freebies, funny/appreciative remarks,
etc.).
Groups: Alumni forum, LIFE centres,
Techtiary clubs, Magoyi (Facebook now
allows integration of Groups under Pages).
Hashtags (Publicize existing hashtags, to
avoid multiple).
Promotions and Campaigns (After establishing
good network, everybody pays for publicity
sometimes).
