2. Radiation & its effects.
By Aziz Jamali ( Ammonia Instrument )
3. Types of RadiationThere are various types of radiation , The common ionizing radiations.
Alpha Very Low Radiation
Beta Low Radiation
Gamma High Radiation
X Rays Control Radiation
Neutron Very High Radiation
Examples of Some Radio Active Source, ( Cobalt, Radium, Cesium ,Uranium )
6. Radiation & its effects.
Mobile Phone , Blue Tooth Devices , Wi-Fi Router
7. Summary of Electromagnetic Health Effects Brain Tumors/ Cancers:
The electromagnetic wave emitted by the mobile phone has been long linked with the brain tumors and brain cancers. It
has been seen that if a person uses the mobile and holds it mainly on one side, there is a higher probability of the person
having brain tumor on that side of the brain. These tumors at times can even turn malignant and give rise to brain cancer.
Human Growth & Hormones EMF’s may also negatively affect a cell’s natural ability to process hormone, enzyme and
other biological activities that regulate normal growth. It has the ability to alter estrogen and testosterone hormones
Other Conditions
Alzheimer’s Disease Allergies
Asthma Brain Cancer (adult and child)
Autism Breast Cancer (male and female)
Blood pressure (raised) Depression (also leading to suicide)
Sperm Abnormalities Parkinson’s Disease
Hormone changes Leukemia (adult and child)
Nerve damage Sleep disturbance
Headaches Heart Disease Life-threatening Diseases
15. Advantage of Radiation
Industrial Applications
Cobalt-60 is a preferred source for the radiography of steel thickness of about 75mm to 200 mm.
Iridium -192 is used for radiography of steel thickness of about 6mm to 75 mm.
16. X Ray Machine
Electrons are emitted by the filament (cathode) when it is heated by the low voltage supply.
The electrons are then accelerated by the high voltage and sent towards the target.
The accelerating voltage is around 100kV.
17. Advantage of Radiation
Radiation therapy is a cancer treatment that uses high Doses of Radiation to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors.
18. Advantage of Radiation
Fire Alarm Detector
Smoke alarms that use radioactive material incorporated in an ionization chamber The application of a low-
level electric voltage to the ionization chamber which contains a radioactive source causes a steady electric
current to flow.
Smoke or hot air entering the chamber changes the electric current level, triggering an alarm
