SCIENCE CAMP
What: an opportunity to get to the mountains, learn practical skills in a
hands on way, earn some credits
Cost: $200 with $50 refunded upon successful completion of credits

27. GREEN CERTIFICATE
Green Certificate is a program you can take in high
school that allows you to learn important farming
skill. After passing 3 practical tests, you get 16
credits and a provincially recognize certificate.
If you are interested in GREEN CERTIFICATE and you
have not already spoken with Mr. Raju, do so soon.
We are arranging a date for the Green Certificate
Area Coordinator to meet with Students and
Supervisors.

28. 2019 BCHS Post Secondary Update
•A U of A representative will be at our school Monday
September 30th from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm in the
library
•Post Secondary Representatives will be here at BCHS
on Friday October 4th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.
Grade 10, 11, and 12 students will be given a time to
visit the recruiters. Keep watching announcements
for more information.
•You will be seeing your “Detailed Academic Report”
(DAR) next Wednesday in TAG (Sept 25th) You will
check to make sure all of the information is correct.
This also has your Alberta Student Number which you
need for Apply Alberta (applying for post-secondary.)

29. 2019 BCHS Post Secondary Update
• Most post secondary application dates open Oct 1st
•Students applying to Post Secondary will need to
create a “My Digital ID”
• Students will be using their created “My Digital ID”
and accessing the Apply Alberta site which can be set
up to be ready for Oct 1st.
•The next three slides show the beginning of the “My
Digital ID” view and the “Before You Apply” page on
Apply Alberta with where to click to watch a short
“How to Apply” video
•Mrs Bondarchuk will have “Apply Workshops”
during upcoming TAG / lunch times. Watch for
upcoming details!

37. • Barrhead 1st Scouts is looking for a high
school student that would like to join the
group as a junior leader
• Scouts meet Monday night 7-8:30 pm in the
east gym, when the school is operational (no
meetings on PD days/holidays). They usually
have 2 overnight camps/year, their first one
is tentatively scheduled Oct 26-27
