Notas del editor
Good morning. Welcome to the BDVe webinar series. Today we have the pleasure of having two speakers who are going to present how big data can be applied in the Smart Manufacturing Industry, along with some examples from the BOOST 4.0 lighthouse project from the Big Data PPP.
Before that, allow me to say a few words about the webinar series.
This webinar is part of a series where we will be inviting speakers from organizations and innovation projects to talk about their experience working with big data. In case you believe you have a topic of interest and would like to be speaker of one of our webinars, I take the opportunity to invite you to contact me any time.
The goal is to show the VALUE of big data both from the TECHNICAL & BUSINESS perspectives, as well as touching topics of interest for our community, lessons learned, best practices, innovative solutions, societal debates, etc.
We run at least one webinar per month, typically on the first or second Tuesday at 12:00 CEST, like this one.
In this URL you will find more information about past and future webinar, as well as all the recordings and slides.
Some housekeeping before jumping into the webinar:
Please, write questions in the chat. At the end of the presentation the speaker will answer your questions.
I’m going to ask you a couple of questions to check the main interest of the audience as feedback to our speakers, and a brief survey of two questions at the end to get your feedback and recommendations.
The first question of the poll is about your profile. Please, let us know if you are more interested in technical aspects around big data or more on the business side of the application of big data to the Smart Manufacturing Industry… I give you a few seconds to answer…. It seems…
The second and last question is related to the subject of this particular webinar. Is your organization aapplying solutions for the Smart Manufacturing Industry, providing solutions or just interested in the subject? I give you a few more seconds as well…. Apparently this is the case for X% of the audience
Thanks for answering.
Without further delay, let me introduce today’s webinar and the speakers .
We have the pleasure of having two speakers: Davide Dalle Carbonare from Engineering and Sergio Gusmeroli from Politecnico di Milano. Davide is going to give as an overview of the work done in the BDVA Task Force on Smarrt Manufacturing, while Sergio will give us some examples of the use of big data in the sector, mainly from the BOOST 4.0 project.
Without further delay, let me hand over to Davide. I’m giving you presenter’s rights as we speak… and now you should be able to share your screen.
Davide, the floor is yours.
