2. My plan at the start was to make a 12 page article on
the vegan diet and health impacts. I stuck to this plan
throughout and overall I am hugely satisfied with my
end result. At the beginning my aim was to make 2 info
graphics, 1 multi page article and 1 fact file and I
managed to follow through on all of these objectives.
Obviously I have made a few tweaks to my original
intentions in terms of the color schemes and fonts, but I
have made these changes for the better of my work.
I believe my work is very appropriate for my audience. I
understand turning vegan or thinking about turning
vegan is a serious issue, so I have respected that in my
booklet by making things formal. I made my info
graphics formal with lots of information because I knew
my target audience would be mainly adults. I made sure
that my writing was all very readable and I tried to
avoid wacky fonts as best as possible. I also used a
green background because of the association to vegans.

3. • I was pleased with the overall content that I
produced. My first page the contents was
criticized by my peers for being too simple, but
like I said earlier I did not want to make this a
complicated and wacky booklet so therefore I
am more than happy with it. My next page
consisted of an article named ‘Why Go Vegan?’.
I made sure my text was aligned correctly and
added a few pictures to please the viewers eye.
I would improve however the bit of the text in
the bottom right corner. This is because It looks
like something you would see on a shopping
list rather than an article.
• Next was my vegan diet overview which I made
In an identical style to my previous article.
Correctly aligned text with graphics. In my
opinion this article looked better because of
the fact that the text covered the whole page
rather than ¾ of it like the why go vegan
article. After this was my first info graphic on
nutrition. I made sure the style of this was
simple yet effective to best appeal to my
audience. It was crucial that I made the
information on this readable as well as adding
clear graphics that help explain the writing.

4. • The 6th and 7th page were taken up by a vegan diet guide multipage article. I decided to
change my background to separate this from my other pages. I was pleased by how this
turned out but I do eel I can improve the graphics in some way. I’m not sure what this could be
but I do feel something more could be done there to make it stand out more and to make it
more unique. Next up was my info graph on health. This was another one that I was very
pleased with. I again decided to go for a different background to differ from the green which is
present on the majority of pages. I again wanted to mainly focus on information instead of
graphics. I believe my choice of color palette was extremely effective for this and that the
different fonts complimented each other well. I then looked at the health impacts of going
vegan where I used the same newspaper style format. Once again having my text in columns
and adding a few graphics. Last but not least was my fact file on environment where I decided
to add orange boxes to place under the text. I did this to once again separate it from my main
article.

5. Skills And Areas For Improvement
• I believe I used many different skills effectively in my booklet. I was very impressed with how neatly
and professionally I set my pages out. I also used my design skills well to produce two well thought
out info graphics. I had to find correct information off veganuary.com before incorporating it onto
Photoshop in a fun and creative way.
• I was very happy in the fact that I improved my InDesign skills drastically and that I was able to
confidently make my booklet to a high standard. At the start I only knew how to do the basic stuff.
One thing I learned in particular was how to import photos without them being blurry and the
ability to align text using guides. However the obvious skill that I learnt from this project was my
knowledge on vegans. I managed to find out all sorts of different facts and stories on them and I
believe this was shown in my work.
• Despite my overall satisfaction with how my work came out, I do feel there is a few areas for
improvement. I believe that I could have been more creative on my contents page by possibly
adding a few more graphics to it. In my opinion I don’t believe that I could of improved my articles
at all. This is because my writing quality was of a high standard and I also used 2 or 3 different
graphics to co side with my article. My info graphics were also good, however I do believe I
probably should of added a few pictures to my health one. Overall though I was fairly satisfied with
these. My fact file came out very well, although I do believe I could have altered the color scheme
to something that fitted more naturally. Although green and orange looked quite good there could
have been another combination that looked a bit smarter.

6. Planning & Preparation
• At the start of this project my aim was to create 2 different info graphics, 1
multipage article, 1 fact file and the rest of the 12 page booklet filled up by
articles. I made this easier by making a pagination so that I could constantly refer
back to this. I also co sided this with a mood board so it would be easier to know
what graphics I would be looking for off the internet. In the end I carried this out
effectively as I managed to breakdown the booklet exactly how I planned it. My
idea was to make my info graphics first because I thought these would be the most
time consuming so I wanted to get these out of the way first. I then planned to
produce the two articles that co sided with my info graphics. By this point I already
had planned out 4 pages in the 12 page booklet and I also knew that 3 of the
pages would be my front cover, back cover and contents. This meant theoretically I
had 5 more pages to plan. After this was complete I then planned to create a multi
page article on the vegan diet as well as a fact file on the environmental effects of
turning vegan. This covered 4 pages which meant I had 1 more page to plan. I
decided belatedly to plan a page on an overview of the vegan diet to complete my
planning and preparation process.

7. Time Management & Reviewing Work

• At the start my aim was to create a page every two lessons. I knew that if I stuck to
this I would have around a week for improvements at the end. Overall I was
satisfied with how well I stuck to this plan. I wanted to create a basic 12 page
booklet so then I could work off this to make my booklet loads better. My time
management was also linked to reviewing my work in progress. I tried to review
my work every hour as I went along, while also seeking advice off my tutor to see
how I could improve my work. Like I have previously mentioned I wanted to make
a base plan first before going back to editing it and improving it so I started to
seriously review my work in progress after the first week.
• Throughout my work I tried to use the correct grammar and punctuality and I
believe I did a fairly good job of this. I tended to reference different sources in the
booklet and I used graphics to help explain certain articles.
