In Azure Data Factory, the "Append Variable" activity is a built-in activity that allows you to
append or concatenate new values to an existing variable. This activity is used in pipeline
workflows to modify or update the values of variables during runtime.
Use the Append Variable activity to add a value to an existing array variable defined in a
Data Factory or Synapse Analytics pipeline
The "Append Variable" activity enables you to add new values to an existing variable,
instead of overwriting the existing value. This is useful when you want to store a collection
of values or when you want to gradually build up a string.
To use the "Append Variable" activity, you need to specify the name of the variable you
want to append to, as well as the value that you want to add. The value can be a static
string or an expression that generates a dynamic value

To append a variable in Azure Data Factory, you can follow these steps:
1. Open your Azure Data Factory instance in the Azure portal.
2. In the left-hand navigation menu, click on "Author & Monitor" to open the Data Factory
Editor.
3. In the Data Factory Editor, navigate to the "Variables" tab.
4. Click on the "New" button to create a new variable or select an existing variable that
you want to append to.
5. In the "Value" field, add the value you want to append to the variable. You can use an
expression to dynamically generate the value.
6. In the "Set Variable" activity, add the variable name to the "Variable Name" field.
7. In the "Value" field, use the expression editor to append the new value to the existing
variable value. For example, if your variable is named "myVariable" and the new value
you want to append is "newData", the expression could be
concat(variables('myVariable'), 'newData').
Once you've completed these steps, the variable will be updated with the new appended value
