22. Concrete Placing

23. Concrete Finishing
Type of Finishes
• Wooden float finish on top surfaces of floor slabs & paving (if NO

grouting
• Rubdown or smooth finish for Painted surfaces
• Neat Tamping mark / proper key while still ‘green’ for Screed
Concrete
24. Curing
• Curing – not less than 7 days
• Exposed Surface covered by Polythene sheet after finishing
• After 24 hours / Stiffened, Replace the Polythene sheet with wet
hessian cloth
• Frequent water application under the polythene sheet to keep the
hessian permanently wet
• Alternatively, the exposed surface may be ponded using mixing-
quality water
• Approved Curing Compound agent
25. Protective Coating
• Exposed Holes & Surface Imperfections are filled with approved
repair material prior to coating
• For Contact with Soil & up to 300mm from Grade Level
– Two Coats of Protective System with Glass Matt (WFT 400 microns)
– Glass Mat ( 120-150 GSM)
• For Above 300mm from Grade Level
– Two Coats of Fosroc Dekguard S / Equivalent (DFT 350 microns)
• For contact with Oil/water mixture
– Petro-chemical resistant coating
26. Grouting

Sand Cement Grout – (Static Structures)
1:2 (Cement & Sand) with Water ratio : 0.4max)
Compressive strength at 28 days – 35N/mm2 and at 7days 25N/mm2
Non-Shrink Grout – (Rotating & Reciprocating Equipment)
Cement Based Non-Shrink – 75N/mm2
Epoxy Based Non-Shrink – 95N/mm2
27. Grouting
Using of Type S & F Sleeves – Glass Wool to be fill up to 65mm from Top
Soaking for 24hours prior to grouting & Excess water to be remove
For Epoxy Grout – Surface to be dry unless specified
Verify the Gaps between Base plate and concrete surface 25mm to 50mm
Mix Temperature – 27oC or manufacturer recommendation
Placing of Grout – 30min not later the mixing completion
Curing – 7days
