What is E-ball?
• E-ball technology is a tiny computer in the shape of a
sphere. It is one of the smallest designs that have been
made for laptops and desktops. These are futuristic
designs. This design for E-ball Technology was proposed
by Apostol Tnokovski (Macedonia based Product
Designer). It is the smallest PC design that has ever
been made. It has a sphere-shaped design, as it is one
of the most attractive designs according to Apostal
Tnokovski .
3. History:
1. Pre-20th century- The earliest form of computational devices
were our fingers. These were used to record the calculations.
The most famous calculating instrument used in the pre-20th
century is the abacus. It was built in Babylonia in the 2400 B.C.
2. The first computing device- Charles Babbage, the father of
computers is known to develop the first programmable
computer in the year 1833. The input was given using the punch
cards. It was the first Turing complete design known. The
successful demonstration was made in the year 1906.
4. 3.Digital computers- Digital computers were electro-mechanical versions of
the analog computer. In 1914 the programmable version of the computer
was developed which was electromechanical. It was called digital
computers. It used binary numbers for computation work. The input was
given using a keyboard.
4.Modern computers- The concept of Modern computers was established by
a person called Alan Turing. He mentioned this on a paper in the year 1936.
He proposed a “Universal Computing Machine” in his paper. The concept
used instructions that were originally stored in computer memory. They
could work as efficiently as the Universal Turing Machine.
5. 5.Mobile computers- Mobile computers earlier used were heavy
and needed to be plugged in the mains of the power supply. The
size reduced in the years, and we can have computers of the size
of a palm nowadays (smartphones and tablets). These are
powered by chips that have computing mechanism. These are
very small chips that are called the System on a chip.
66.E-ball computers-The computer design has ever since
been changing and becoming smaller and more compatible.
The rectangle-shaped computer monitor and keyboard have
forever been the standard. The designer of E-ball made a
wonderful exception to the rule by inventing the E-ball
technology. He firmly believes that the sphere is nature’s
most attractive shape. This is the prime thought behind
building such a compact computer in the shape of a sphere
with all the features of a traditionally shaped computer.

7. Features of E-ball technology:
1.The virtual laser keyboard with Infrared
Sensors: This is used for taking input. The
infrared sensor makes it possible to know
which key is accessed.
2.Dual-core processor: The dual-core
processor is used so that parallel
programming can be done. This would in turn
increase the speed of the programs that are
computed.
8. 3.2GB RAM: The storage of the E-ball is 2GB. This states that it has
a 2 GB memory that can be used in a non-sequential manner. The
RAM has 2 types of DRAM and SRAM.
4.350-500GB hard drive: The hard disk of the E-ball is used
repeatedly in case of the reading and writing operations that are
performed. The specification of this is 350-500GB.
9. 5..Integrated graphics and sound cards: The
graphics and sound cards are used for
visuals and audio. These are integrated into
the E-ball system so that the audio and
video functionality is added to it.
6..50 W speakers, two: The speakers are used
for output in the form of sound. This is a
wonderful tool that is used in the e-ball
technology for people who love music. This is
also necessary for system sounds and other
audio output.

7..The holographic display created using a
projector with automatically adjustable
intensity: The display of the system is actually a
holographic display instead of a physical
monitor. This is created by using a projector on a
flat surface.
8..LAN, WLAN cards: These are cards that
help the E-ball system in attaching itself to
a network. These are very helpful for users
who usually use the network for their
work.
11. 9..Webcam: The webcam has the functionality of
recording images and video. These can also be used to
stream data. It is used extensively in video conferencing.
12. Application:
1..Office work: The E-ball can be used to
make presentations, word, and other office-
related documents.
2...Watchingovies: The E-ball has a
holographic display that can be used for
watching movies at the comfort of homes or
any place that has a flat surface for the
creation of the monitor screen.
13. 3..video conferencing: The webcam is a perfect
use for office meetings and conferences.
Listening to songs: The speakers are bliss for
listening to songs.
4..Presentations: can also be given using the
display system.
14. 1..The body of the eyeball has
aluminum as well as plastic parts. It
is the smallest among all the designs
developed so far, having 120×120
millimeters of the motherboard that
is 6 inches in diameter.
2…The E-ball has all the features of
standard personal computers like a
mouse, keyboard, display, etc. First,
to operate the E-ball, we need to
press a button so that stand is
opened on which the sphere E-ball
will rest.
Elements of E-ball technology:
15. 3…Itas a virtual laser keyboard. It is projected on a flat
surface. It understands the fingers with the help of
infrared sensors.
E-ball Technology supports the Windows operating
system.
4..The keyboard and mouse can be used to give input to
the E-ball, whereas the holographic display and speakers
would give output. The storage is settled as the hard disk
is present and the network cards are present for any
networking needs.
16. Advantages:
1…Portableue to its small size.
2..Large memory, hence, can store a lot of
data.
3..It is fast due to the dual-core processor.
4.. It reduces e-waste by using a virtual
keyboard and monitor.
5..Requires less space.
Is lightweight.
7. Organizations
would need a lot
less security to
protect against
theft as all of
these can be
stacked in one
small, secured
place.
6.. It Is lightweight.
7..Organizations would need a lot less
security to protect against theft as all of
these can be stacked in one small, secured
place.
17. Disadvantages:
It works only
with the
Windows
1...Itorks only with the Windows Operating system and
no other OS.
2.. It has a very high cost because it uses high-end
technology.
3.. Any hardware problem is difficult to handle and
recover from.
4. It would need new skilled people for its repair which
would also be expensive.
