2017/18 - Establish as a professional,
scholarly and legitimate press: seated
editorial board, adopted review
policies and procedures; prepared
new author contract using Model
Digital Scholarship Agreement;
drafted author instructions and
guidelines
2018 – began beta test of Coko’s
Editoria – web based monograph
editing and production (export to PDF
and EPUB)
7. Monograph Program – Workflow/Needs
Proposal/Selection
• Scholarly Editions- prospective authors submit a proposal through OMP for review and acceptance by Editorial
Board
• Call for proposals- Editorial Board initiated books; chapter proposals sent to editorial board/guest editor
• Association Editions- works initiated by the Association; guest edited with invited submissions
Manuscript Preparation and Review- OMP not designed for our proposal submission process; review of completed
manuscripts reliant upon track changes in Word and submission of multiple files through OMP document
management system- potential for errors/corrupt files/versioning confusion
Copyediting/Layout - Atla contracts this work out to professional proofreaders and designers to copy edit text
(marked up PDFs/more Word track changes) and layout completed works in Adobe InDesign ($$)
NEEDS- collaborative space to perform editorial review/commenting for author revision and subsequent
professional copy editing followed by simpler/cost-effective layout in custom template -- EDITORIA
