This is a NEW teacher training workshop that has NOT been presented previously anywhere else in New Jersey. It
will feature recent current events and research findings in personal finance (these are new every year), new hands-on
personal finance learning activities, and presentations about technology tools and financial education resources by
guest speakers. For information about the program content, contact Dr. Barbara O’Neill at oneill@aesop.rutgers.edu.
This session is supported by August 2011 legislation, (N.J.S.A. 17:9-43.2.D) that authorizes New Jersey credit unions to serve as
public depositories for the purpose of promoting personal financial literacy education. Raritan Valley Community College and
the Atlantic County Vocational School District are sponsoring the meeting space. Next Gen Personal Finance is providing
funding for meals and door prizes and in-kind funding of staff resources is being provided by Rutgers Cooperative Extension,
the New Jersey Department of Education, the NJ Coalition for Financial Education, and the NJ Council for Economic Education.
Professional development certificates will be provided for participants who attend the entire workshop.
