Personal statement
I am highly motivated and hardworking individual, who is in the process of completing their GCSE
qualifications, who has achieved excellent grades in both Maths and Graphic design as well as level
4/5’s in English and science and from then proceeded to study a Media and Film BTEC where I
developed many skills and learnt about the media sector. I am seeking a career in the media sector
that will help enhance my skills further and give me a clear career path with opportunities to progress
as I gain experience, whilst also achieving further qualifications in the specific area.
I am mechanically minded, with a methodical approach to working and an eagerness to learn and
develop personal skills in a practical setting. I am able to complete tasks as an individual, but I can
also work as part of a team. I understand that some jobs are better completed as a solo project where
when working as part of a team, people’s individual skills and ideas are utilised to improve
performance.
I have worked as a bar assistant for many years now. I have gained valuable experience from this,
where I have shown that politeness and the importance of social skills when dealing with customers. I
have also learnt the importance of time-keeping and punctuality, but most importantly I understand
that hard work is rewarded and gives a good impression of an individual.
Key Skills
Advanced problem solving and numeracy skills
Accomplished communication skills, both written and verbal, developed through GCSE
coursework and my role working with the public.
Ability to take the initiative and work well under pressure, ensuring strict deadlines are met, as
successfully demonstrated during both work and school. Where unless I get glasses back to
the bar and clean the bar doesn’t run at its peak, at school I have to ensure coursework is
completed on time.
Flexibility, whilst maintaining enthusiasm and commitment to each project
Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Eagerness to take on responsibility and achieve shown by holding a job whilst studying for
GCSE’s at age 15.

I am relaxing I will either be listening to music or watching TV. I enjoy watching and discovering
new series on Netflix and or watching music-based documentaries.
I am also a bit of a foodie and enjoy going out for food with families and friends. It is always
exciting trying new places for the first time and I do enjoy looking for different places to try out.
Spending time with friends and family is very important to me and I value the time I get to spend
with others.
