We deal with Beacon Technology (Now introducing WiFi beacons)
2. Miami International Airport
• Miami International Airport is the first airport in the world to have a complete and
open deployment of beacons.
• Beacons are deployed at cover entrances, check-in, gate, baggage claim and valet
parking zones throughout Miami International Airport.
• Each beacon broadcasts its identifier in the zone and this can be used by airlines,
retailers and other partners' apps to trigger useful content to passengers or staff
• It is not just for passengers; beacons can be used for staff notifications and to beam
operational information - such as temperature, noise levels, vibrations, etc - from
throughout the airport to allow efficient operational management.
• Miami Airport's beacon zones are in operation throughout the terminals, skytrain and
car parks to allow way-finding to be offered on passenger's phones.
3. Marriot Hotels
• Marriott has already tested out beacon technology successfully at 14 hotels
• The hospitality company revamped its loyalty program by installing beacons around
just 14 Marriott Hotel properties
• through the first part of 2015 and using data and feedback from this trial period to
figure out how to best proceed, and increase the scope of the program.
• To receive location-based perks, guests must first download the LocalPerks beacon
app.
• Marriot then tested out the incorporation of beacon technology at one of the pilot
properties – the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort in Florida.
• As we customers walked around the property, the beacons determined their phone’s
whereabouts, sending them exclusive deals and offers.
4. Ford Global
• Ford has tested "beacon" technology at a number of their Detroit dealerships, allowing shoppers to learn
more about vehicle features using their smartphones.
• When visiting a dealership, customers would first opt-in to the dealer's free in-store Wi-Fi system, then,
when they approach vehicles that are fitted with beacons, they will receive educational push notifications
on various product features and technologies selected by the dealer.
• For example, a beacon attached to the front of a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup might send a message telling
the shopper about its LED headlights.
• As the customer moved to the back of the vehicle, another beacon would provide information on the
integrated tailgate step.
• Someone looking at a 2015 Mustang GT could learn from an underhood beacon that the 5.0-liter V8
engine puts out 435 horsepower, and a beacon near the windshield might give them some information
on the car's adaptive cruise control and rain-sensing wipers.
