Project Title : STEADYSTATE SECURITYENHANCEMENT USING PSO ALGORITHM
WITH TCSC DEVICE
Team role: Team Leader.
Team size: Five members.
Components used: Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC), IEEE 30 Bus System.
Software Used: MATLAB.
Description: The principle role of power system control is to maintain a secure system state. But the
unexpected outages of lines or transformers occur due to faults or other disturbances referred to as
contingencies, may cause significant overloading of transmission lines or transformers, which in turn
may lead to a viability crisis of the power system. So to protect the system from line overloads
following the single line outages, FACTS device-TCSC is placed in the system. This Project is to
protect the power system network from overloading of the lines for single line contingencies, which is
achieved by installing a Thyristor controlled series capacitor.
PROJECT ROLES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Project planning, execution and coordination.
Project Documentation & Team Support.
Verification of the work output as per project specification & check list.
