WIPRO limited (western India products limited) is an
Indian multinational it consulting and system
integration services company headquartered in
bangalore,india.
The company was incorporated on 29 December 1945,
in Mumbai by Mohamed premji as ‘western India
vegetable products limited’, later abbreviated to
‘Wipro’.
It was initially set up as a manufacturer of vegetables
and refined oils in Mumbai , under the trade name of
kisan, sunflower and camel.
As of December 2014,the company has 1,54,297
employees servicing over 900 large enterprises.

Domestic market was huge but was
underdeveloped.

Limited domain.
Clients not turning the capabilities of indian
software cos.
7. OPPORTUNITIES
In the branded product category.

In the emerging technology areas like
blue tooth, wap etc.

8. THREATS:
Increasing cost of human capital.
Will face fierce competition in the areas of e-
business and asp services.
Competition by indian companies in domestic
market.
High exposure to the telecom/tech sectors.
Slow down in the banking, financial services and
insurance (bfs) sector.
9. CONCLUSION:
Till today wipro has been known for being,
very process oriented with a focus on quality
and lost savings. Wipro long term strategy
should be to create a brand image and be
know for innovation.
Wipro should invest in r&d and cost or
reduce time to market or improve reliability.
