Notas del editor
The Purpose of this magazine will be to identify location in North London and give a few facts or statistics about venues, these could be used for Gigs/Concerts. The magazine can give pointers on the location e.g. acoustics of the Venue. This could be for aspiring artists or current artists looking for a place to have a Gig/Concerts or a place to perform at.
This magazine will be the size of an A5 piece of paper. This is too increase the movability of the magazine, so people can take it with them to the venue and read facts about the venue they are at.
The Main colour theme of the magazine has not yet been selected as unclear what genre is coming out first, or mix of all genres.
Red and Black for rock edition.
The Chosen font was Britannic as its looks cool, but being clear at the same time so its easy to read and appeals to under 40’s.
Mainly of rock festivals, as they tend to pick the best venues in North London to hold concerts at.
On the double page spread there will be a large image of a venue. Along with the image will be facts as well as statistics on the the venue. Possibly with all this, could be either a statement or interview or just quotes from either managers of the venue or artists that have played at the venue or even roadies that have been around the venue. This will be done to give the reader a good insight into the venue to feel like they can already imagine the venue well and clearly.
The magazine will have the locations of venues in north London, these could be upcoming and current venues. The content will include facts about these venues e.g. capacity. and possibly ratings of these venues.
The Resources that are needed for this magazine are: Industrial Printers, Staplers, Photoshop, Internet, Paper, Stationary
Chief Editor
We will need a Chief Editor to manage the articles and oversee the other staff to make sure the magazine is ready and fit for purpose.
Photographer
The Photographer will be in charge of going to the venues and taking good photos of them to properly and clearly show the readers what the venues look like inside and out to give them a clear image of it.
Researcher
The Researcher will be in charge of looking up information and gathering facts and statistics on the Venues so the reader knowns about the venue in detail. E.g. a sketch or photograph of the layout of the venue.
Designer
The Designer will be responsible for designing and collaborating the images into the design of the magazine to make it look nice for the reader, this could be the arrangements of Photographs inside the magazine.
For distribution we will deliver a monthly copy of the magazine to households which subscribe, this saves them the effort of buying it elsewhere.
In the future we look to possibly have it sold inside big brand magazines.
The price of the subscription will be 4 Pounds a month. This is also for the quality of the paper which will be recycled paper, to aid the saving wildlife initiative. Donations also to help raise the reputation of the magazine and gain more subscribers. In total we will raise 3.50 pounds from every subscriber sale.
WWF is our chosen charity as every year there are lots of new venues being made, natural habitats are destroyed and wildlife are forced to move to make way for these new venues. We want to do our part in trying to help as we advertise these venues.
The Target audience will be mainly Upcoming artists looking for information of venues they could book for gigs/concerts.
As well as people looking for information of who is playing where.
The main issue I think could be gathering the data on Venues, due to recent terror threats this information has become increasing harder to obtain due to safety concerns of that venue.
Could overcome this issue by not including plans of larger more popular venues.
To overcome the issue of venues linked to drug selling, research of venues will be conducted anyway, if information shows history linked to drugs they will not be included in the magazine.
Obviously the venues themselves would never answer these questions, therefore asking people who have gone to these venues, or artists or ex maangers if they thing the venue could been linked to drugs. If venues has a history among public to drug links.
To get around this, we will make sure any information taken from online or photos taken from online we will either give them credit for the info or if needed secure copyright permission.
The Main competition of this magazine would be Time Out Magazine as they cover events in London, this magazine also covers events in North London which could cause competition with Time Out. Other than that after long research no other magazine specifically covering venues in North London were found.
