Mr. Ergen brings a remarkable track record having influenced the retail market in Romania. A civil engineer from
the Technical University of Istanbul, with a Master’s Degree in Construction Management, his landmark career
started with the launch of the first two shopping centers (Bucuresti Mall and Plaza Romania) which he developed
and managed, bringing the mall concept to Romania. Next, taking the retail philosophy one step further, he also
developed and managed Baneasa Shopping City - the largest commercial platform nationwide.
Additionally, he was in charge of the planning, development, launch and management of Grand Cinema Digiplex
– a multi-experiential entertainment center with 13 screens and a unique fun area with bowling, pool and shuffle
boards.
Mr. Ergen served four years as Chair of ICSC Romanian National Committee and member on ICSC European
Advisory Board.

7. Pioneering the Romanian retail market
Located in the center of Bucharest, Bucuresti Mall is the first
shopping center to open in Romania. Upon its opening in 1999,
it set international retail standards to the market. Currently, its
35.000 sq m GLA offer over 100 shops.
A relevant retail scheme, especially for the Western part of the
city, Plaza Romania continued to reinvent itself from its opening
in 2004 until today, offering 150 shops in 41.000 sq m GLA.
Baneasa Shopping City, part of the largest retail platform in

As the exclusive development and leasing consultant for the
32,000 sqm GLA scheme, featuring an Auchan hypermarket, a

entertainment center, the TBE team sealed the deals with the
main anchor tenants, securing the dominant positioning of the
project and leveraging its potential in a highly competitive
environment
Also, by creating a new division to our business, EBS Cinema
Services, we engaged in the development and operation of the
in-house multiplex cinema ( 8 halls, 1500 seats) – Cinema One,
a brand to be extended in the near future into a country wide

We engaged in a partnership for the management of Palatul Stirbey project - a former palace compound
