THE CHALLENGE
– Since NTT DATA's acquisition of MagenTys, there was an immediate need to scale out
their new arm to cater for the heavy increase in additional global clients. The new team needed to
be ambitious and results orientated, with in-depth experience in DevOps methodologies, disciplines
and technologies. Comfortable applying DevOps principles, working at all stages of the software
development lifecycle and with a key interest in software security.

THE SOLUTION
In order to get this right, I spent a lot of time with hiring managers, helping with the job descriptions
and providing regular market intelligence on salaries, competitors and who is available. For the
MagenTys team, they would need to work really closely together and happy to collaborate wherever
necessary – so culture fit was very important.
I regularly met up with the candidates that I had placed with the team and did offsite events such as
dinners, and meetups so not only were they each other’s work colleagues but friends as well.
Delivering market leading candidates – I approached this by becoming their dedicated account manager,
keeping up to date with their recruitment plans which essentially meant I was always one step ahead, so
a shortlist was ready before the roles officially became live

THE RESULT
Benefits to the client so far:
– understanding the commercial needs and cultural fit meaning
interviews stages were cut down to just one interview or not always necessary, saving
time for all parties
– partnered with our offline social events and hosted these
at their offices, getting there name out there to passive candidates who were not on
the market for new positions
– due to the resource planning I was able to create shortlists of
candidates readily available so when the role became live the recruitment process was
cut down and all tied up with a week or so.
