How to remove acrylic nails
1. How to remove acrylic nails
Acrylic nails are looking great and are ideal for those with fragile nails. But like everything in
life, even wearing acrylic nails must stop at some point. I think you’ve heard all sorts of
horror stories about women who have broken their nails trying to remove acrylic nails at
home. Although you can succeed at home it is best to go where you put them. If however
you cannot get to the salon we help you with some advises to remove your acrylic nails
painlessly and safely at home. Do not ever break acrylic nails, because you can break the
natural nail too.
You know you have to remove the acrylic nails when they begin to look yellow or because of
over-application they get thicken. Find a place where you can sit down and feel comfortable.
Kitchen table is highly desirable in this case. Cover the table with some old newspaper or
some plastic to absorb any leaks and prevent the table of any possible damage.
2. Bring all your tools that you need to have them as handy. Do you want to run after them
right in the middle of action? Using a nail clipper, cut the acrylic nails as short as possible to
make their removal easier. Fill a glass bowl with acetone, which you use to soften your nails
and dissolve the glue used to attach to the nail.
You can apply olive oil on the cuticles and around nails than take a cotton pad and soak it
thoroughly in acetone (it doesn’t have to be a soft version), apply it on the nail and wrap
the nail disc with foil. Be careful; assure yourself that it’s staying proper on your nail. You
have to stay with the foil on it at least 20 minutes; it depends on how thick is the layer on
our nail.
3. After 30 minutes remove the foil and the dissolved acrylic. If you still have acrylic nails on it
you have to repeat this step again. Although you repeat the second time this process you
probably still be some residue left. Take a file and with gently moves file off those residues.
It should be easier if you soak your nails often in acetone.
4. When you are done with taking off the acrylic nail wash your hand with non-abrasive soap
than massage your hand with olive oil, almond oil or baby oil. You could use bio soap or
homemade soap too. After the long taking off process your hands will be very dry caused by
acetone and your nails will be fragile for a while. You can help them with a good quality
hand cream used regularly. And be patient! Wait two or three months until you put new
acrylic nails. That way your nails should be healthier.
