SUPER BOWL LVII KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VERSUS PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
SUPER BOWL BIRDS- Philadelphia, which joined Kansas City as the only 14-win teams in the NFL this season, is set to appear in its
fourth ever Super Bowl, having previously done so in 1980, 2004 and 2017 (Eagles defeated New England, 41-33, in Super Bowl LII).
Overall, Super Bowl LVII marks the franchise’s eighth NFL title game (also 1947, 1948, 1949 and 1960). Since 2004, only five NFL
teams have reached the Super Bowl three times – New England (seven), Philadelphia (three), Kansas City (three), Pittsburgh (three)
and Seattle (three). The Eagles are also one of four franchises to appear in multiple Super Bowls since 2017, along with Kansas City
(three), L.A. Rams (two) and New England (two).
WHAT TO WATCH FOR- Andy Reid served as the Eagles’ head coach for 14 seasons (1999-2012). Super Bowl LVII marks just the
fifth time in NFL history that a team faces its former head coach in the Super Bowl. The previous instances include the Patriots vs. Pete
Carroll’s Seahawks (XLIX), the Raiders vs. Jon Gruden’s Buccaneers (XXXVII), the Broncos vs. Dan Reeves’ Falcons (XXXIII) and the
Colts vs. Weeb Ewbank’s Jets (III)…This matchup features two MVP finalists in Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes and represents the
first ever Super Bowl featuring two Black starting QBs. Hurts is aiming to become the fourth Black QB to win a Super Bowl (also
Mahomes, Doug Williams and Russell Wilson). Furthermore, Hurts (24 years, 189 days) and Mahomes (27 years, 148 days) make up
the youngest QB matchup in Super Bowl history…Hurts (14-1, .933) and Mahomes (14-3, .824) tied for the most QB wins in the NFL
this year. They also finished 1st and 2nd in passer rating (Mahomes, 105.2; Hurts, 101.5) and yards per attempt (Mahomes, 8.10;
Hurts, 8.05), while ranking among the top in TD/INT ratio (Hurts, 2nd, 3.67; Mahomes, 3rd, 3.42), total yards per game (Mahomes, 1st,
329.9; Hurts, 3rd, 297.4) and total TDs (Mahomes, 1st, 45; Hurts, 4th, 35).
PLAYOFF PERFORMANCES- Following its victories over New York (W, 38-7) and San Francisco (W, 31-7) in the Wild Card Round
and NFC Championship Game, Philadelphia became the first team in NFL history to score 31+ points while allowing 7-or-fewer points
multiple times in the same postseason…The Eagles are the first NFL team to allow 7-or-fewer points multiple times in a playoff run
since the 2000 Ravens (three). Furthermore, the last time Philadelphia gave up 7-or-fewer points in consecutive playoff games was
during the 1948 and 1949 NFL Championships…The Eagles became the seventh team in NFL history to win multiple games by 24+
points in a postseason, joining the 2002 Buccaneers, 1992 Cowboys, 1989 49ers (three), 1988 49ers, 1985 Bears and 1983 Raiders.
Each of those teams went on to win the Super Bowl…Notably, Philadelphia is the first NFL team to rank among the Top 3 in the NFL in
total offense (389.1 ypg, 3rd) and total defense (301.5 ypg, 2nd) in the same season since the 2010 San Diego Chargers…In the NFC
Championship Game vs. San Francisco, the Eagles rushed for 148 yards and a franchise-playoff-record 4 TDs (by three different
players). It was the first time the 49ers had allowed 4 rushing TDs in a single game in more than six years (4 on 10/16/16 at
Buffalo)…Philadelphia became the fifth team in NFL history to record 3+ rushing TDs in back-to-back playoff games, joining the 2019
Patriots, 2013 49ers, 1973 Dolphins and 1941 Bears.
WELCOME TO ‘SACKADEPHIA’- The Eagles set a single-season franchise record with an NFL-leading 70 sacks. Since 1982, when
sacks became an official statistic, only the 1984 Bears (72) and 1989 Vikings (71) have totaled more…Philadelphia is the only NFL
team since 1982 to have four different players record 10.0+ sacks in the same season – Haason Reddick (16.0), Brandon Graham
(11.0), Javon Hargrave (11.0) and Josh Sweat (11.0)…Haason Reddick tied for the 2nd-most sacks (career-high 16.0) in the NFL,

2. trailing only Nick Bosa (18.5). His 16.0 sacks are tied for the 3rd
-most by any NFL player in their first season with a team, trailing only
Shaquil Barrett with Tampa Bay in 2019 (19.5) and Bryce Paup with Buffalo in 1995 (17.5). Reddick, who also led the league with 5
strip sacks and 5 FFs (tied), became the first NFL player to produce 10.0+ sacks in three consecutive seasons with three different
teams…Including playoffs, Reddick has 19.5 sacks in 19 games. His 3.5 sacks this postseason are the most by an Eagle in a single
playoff run…At age 34, Brandon Graham registered double-digit sacks (11.0) for the first time in his career. He is the oldest NFL player
with 11.0+ sacks since Julius Peppers (age 37) and Terrell Suggs (age 35) in 2017…Javon Hargrave recorded a career-high 11.0
sacks, which ranks 4th among NFL DTs this season, trailing Chris Jones (15.5), Quinnen Williams (12) and Daron Payne (11.5).
Hargrave’s 11.0 sacks are the most by an Eagles DT since Andy Harmon in 1993 (11.5)
SWOLE’ & ‘SKINNY’ BATMAN- A.J. Brown (career-high 1,496) and DeVonta Smith (career-high 1,196) are the first 1,000+ yard
receiving duo in franchise history…Brown’s career-high 1,496 receiving yards finished 4th in the league behind Justin Jefferson (1,809),
Tyreek Hill (1,710) and Davante Adams (1,516). In his first season with the Eagles, Brown set a single-season franchise record with
1,496 receiving yards, surpassing the previous mark owned by Mike Quick in 1983 (1,409)…Brown also tied for 3rd in the NFL with a
career-high-tying 11 receiving TDs (also 2020), behind Davante Adams (14) and Travis Kelce (12). He also averaged 17.0 yards per
catch, a figure that ranked 2nd in the league, trailing only Jaylen Waddle (18.1) (min. 50 catches)…DeVonta Smith finished his second
NFL season with 95 receptions, which are the most by a WR in Eagles history.
MORE PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS- Miles Sanders finished the regular season as one of three NFL RBs to produce 1,200+ rushing yards
(career-high 1,269, 5th in NFL), 11+ rushing TDs (career-high 11) and a 4.5+ rushing average (4.9) this season, joining Josh Jacobs
and Nick Chubb. He also became the third Eagles RB to record 1,200+ rushing yards and 10+ rushing TDs in a season, joining Ricky
Watters (1995, 1996) and LeSean McCoy (2011)…Since 1970, only three NFL centers have been selected first-team All-Pro five times:
Dermontti Dawson (six), Mike Webster and Jason Kelce…Dawson and Webster are both Pro Football Hall of Famers…According to
Pro Football Focus, Lane Johnson has not allowed a sack since Week 11 of 2020 or a QB hit since Week 7 of 2021…Despite missing
five games due to injury, Dallas Goedert ranked 2nd among all league TEs in yards per reception (12.8), trailing only Jordan Akins
(13.4). Goedert also finished 3rd in yards after the catch (420), behind Travis Kelce (648) and Evan Engram (465), as well as 3rd in 20+
yard receptions (11), behind Kelce (19) and George Kittle (12)…T.J. Edwards registered a career-high 159 total tackles, which finished
7th overall in the league. His 159 tackles are the 2nd-most by an Eagle in the last 31 seasons, trailing Byron Evans in 1992
(175)…James Bradberry finished with the 3rd-lowest passer rating allowed in the NFL (55.9) (min. 50 targets) and posted the 3rd-most
PDs (17)…Bradberry and Darius Slay finished as the only CB tandem in the NFL to both produce 14+ PDs and 3+ INTs this season.
THE JEFFREY LURIE ERA- Jeffrey Lurie is the fourth individual owner to have three different head coaches reach the Super Bowl
(Andy Reid, Doug Pederson and Nick Sirianni), joining Pat Bowlen (Broncos – Dan Reeves, Mike Shanahan, John Fox, Gary Kubiak),
Al Davis (Raiders – John Madden, Tom Flores, Bill Callahan) and Georgia Frontiere (Rams – Ray Malavasi, Dick Vermeil, Mike Martz).
Lurie and Davis are the only ones to reach three Super Bowls with a different head coach and QB in each season…Since 2000,
Philadelphia is tied for the 2nd-most playoff victories (16) in the NFL, trailing only New England (30), and is tied for the 3rd-most
postseason trips (15), behind the Patriots (18) and Packers (16). Also, the Eagles have played in the 2nd-most conference
championships (seven) since 2001, with only New England (13) appearing in more.
MORE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES TEAM NOTES- The Eagles have the most Pro Bowl selections (eight) in the NFL this year – A.J.
Brown, Landon Dickerson, Jalen Hurts, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, Haason Reddick, Miles Sanders and Darius Slay. Philadelphia
also has six All-Pro honorees (the Eagles’ most All-Pro picks since the 2004 season) – Johnson and Kelce on the first team along with
James Bradberry, Brown, Hurts and Reddick on the second team…Philadelphia scored a franchise-record 477 points in 2022, including
team records in total TDs (59), scrimmage TDs (57) and rushing TDs (32). The Eagles’ 32 rushing TDs tied for the 3rd-most in league
history, trailing the 1962 Packers (36) as well as the 1976 Steelers (33)…Philadelphia became just the fifth NFL team since 1970 to
rush for 25+ TDs in consecutive seasons, joining the 2002-05 Chiefs (four), 1994-95 Cowboys, 1975-76 Baltimore Colts and 1974-75
Dolphins…The Eagles also finished the regular season with franchise records in third-down conversion rate (45.9%, previously 45.7%
in 2021) and red zone TD efficiency (67.8%, previously 66.7% in 2019).

3. KANSAS CITY CHEIFS OVERVIEW- For the third time in four seasons the Kansas City Chiefs will play for a Lombardi Trophy, this
time taking on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. Kickoff at State Farm Stadium is slated for 5:30 p.m. CT. The Chiefs
punched their ticket to the NFL's final game after defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in the AFC title game on Jan. 29. It marked the
fifth-straight season the Chiefs hosted the AFC Championship, an NFL record. Kansas City finished the 2022 season with a 14-3 record
and the number one seed in the AFC. This season the Chiefs clinched their seventh-consecutive AFC West title, tying for the second-
longest streak in NFL history (NE - 11, 2009-19). Since 2015, Kansas City has tallied a 42-6 record (.875) against AFC West
opponents, the NFL’s best divisional record over an eight-year span since divisional realignment in 2002. In 2021, following a 12-5
season and the No. 2 seed in the AFC, Kansas City advanced to host it’s fourth-straight AFC Championship Game at GEHA Field at
Arrowhead Stadium. Under Head Coach Andy Reid, KC has now qualified for the postseason nine times in 10 seasons and has nine
10+ win seasons. Reid owns 268 career victories (regular and postseason combined). He ranks fifth on the NFL’s all-time wins list. Last
week's playoff win moved him into second all-time in postseason victories with 21 (Belichick - 31, Landry - 20). He has tallied 117
regular season wins in Kansas City.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is in his fifth season as the club’s starting quarterback. As the starter, Mahomes has led the team to five-
consecutive home AFC Championship Games, three Super Bowl appearances and earned NFL MVP (2018) and Super Bowl MVP
honors (2019). Since 2018, he leads the league in yards (23,957), touchdowns (192), 25+ yard completions (206) and first down throws
(1,183). With only 48 interceptions (since 2018), he owns a +144 TD/INT ratio, the highest mark of any active QB in that span. He owns
41 career games of 300+ passing yards. Mahomes eclipsed 20K passing yards in Week 4, becoming the fastest QB in NFL history to
reach that milestone (67 games). TE Travis Kelce has now recorded an NFL record seven-straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons (1,338
yards in 2022). He owns 35 games with 100+ receiving yards (most in NFL history for a tight end) and has caught at least one pass in
160 consecutive games (reg. and postseason). Since entering the NFL in 2013, Kelce leads all tight ends in receiving yards (10,344)
and receptions (814). He ranks first in touchdowns (69) and catches of 25+ yards (81).
Kansas City welcomed many new faces in 2022. The Chiefs traded WR Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins in exchange for five draft picks. KC
made 10 selections in the 2022 NFL Draft, including seven defensive players. The Chiefs selected CB Trent McDuffie and DE George
Karlaftis in the first round. GM Brett Veach added several free agents, including WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR Marquez Valdes-
Scantling, S Justin Reid and DE Carlos Dunlap. The club franchise tagged LT Orlando Brown. KC traded with the New York Giants to
acquire WR Kadarius Toney.
CHIEFS IN THE POSTSEASON- There are 30 players on the 2022 Chiefs roster that have been a part of a Super Bowl in their
careers. 24 of those players have only ever been a part of a Chiefs’ Super Bowl; 17 of which were here for both runs in 2019 and 2020.
Six out of the 30 went to the Super Bowl with other teams, three of them faced the Chiefs in the 2019 or 2020 Super Bowl. Of the 30
players that have made it to the Super Bowl, 23 of them have the title, World Champion, before their name…Chiefs TE Travis Kelce
and Chiefs LS James Winchester, who both recorded their 17th career postseason game played with an appearance in the AFC
Championship Game, set the Chiefs franchise record for most career playoff appearances. Entering the 2022 NFL Playoffs, 37 (69.8%)
of the 53 players on Kansas City’s active roster had appeared in a playoff game. In total, those 37 players accounted for 297 total
postseason game appearances and have accumulated 165 total playoff starts entering the playoffs. Behind Kelce (17 starts), G Joe
Thuney is in second place in total postseason starts on the current Chiefs roster (15). Entering the 2022 postseason, 10 Chiefs players
had started each playoff game appearance: T Orlando Brown, LB Willie Gay, C Creed Humphrey, TE Travis Kelce, QB Patrick
Mahomes, S Justin Reid, G Trey Smith, CB L’Jarius Sneed, G Joe Thuney, T Andrew Wylie.
CHEIFS HEAD COACH ANDY REID- Andy Reid is one of five active NFL head coaches with over 150 victories. He has 268 overall
wins and is one of five active coaches with 10 or more postseason victories (John Harbaugh has 11). Throughout his career Reid has
notched victories over all 32 NFL teams. Reid’s 72.2% regular season win percentage with the Chiefs puts him at first among the
longest-tenured coaches besting NE’s Bill Belichick (70.8% with NE) and ahead of PIT’s Mike Tomlin (63.6%). Reid - who is the all-time
winningest head coach in Philadelphia Eagles history - is one of only four coaches to rank in the top two in all-time wins for two different
NFL franchises (Dan Reeves, Tom Coughlin, Tony Dungy).

4. PROTECTION UP FRONT- Prior to the 2021 season, the Chiefs overhauled their offensive line, drafting C Creed Humphrey with the
63rd pick in the second round and picking up G Trey Smith with the 226th overall pick in the sixth round. The draft picks were paired
with Joe Thuney as a free agent and the club traded for T Orlando Brown Jr. adding size and versatility to its front line. These additions
have kept QB Patrick Mahomes protected. Throughout the 2022 season, the Chiefs front allowed only 26 sacks, the third-fewest across
the league. The offensive line allowed no sacks four times in 2022 (Week 1, Week 10, Week 12, Week 17). Kansas City’s 26 sacks are
the fewest allowed in the AFC.
PUT IT ON THE BOARD- Since 2018, the Chiefs rank first in the NFL in points scored per game (30.1). The Chiefs averaged 29.2
points per game in the 2022 season, coming out on top across the league. Since Andy Reid was named Head Coach in 2013, the
Chiefs have had at least four games each season where they’ve scored 30 or more points. In 2018, the club scored at least 30 points
12 times, which ranked first in franchise history. In the 2022 season alone, they Chiefs recorded eight games with at least 30 points.
SINCE 2018,,,- Over the last five seasons, the Chiefs rank first in the NFL in scrimmage yards per game (416.5), first in the league with
a total of 1,958 first downs, and have the highest third down percentage in the NFL, converting 49.0% of their third down attempts. The
Chiefs were second amongst the league this season in third down conversions with 48.7%.
BIG D IN KC- Since 2018, the Chiefs are 55-3 when they hold their opponents to less than 27 points, including postseason play. The
Chiefs held 12 of their 2022 regular season opponents and two of their 2022 postseason opponents to less than 27 points. Also dating
back to 2013 when Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid arrived in Kansas City, the Chiefs defense is ranked third in the NFL when it comes
to forcing opponent turnovers, tallying 258 total takeaways. In addition, the Chiefs have returned 24 of their 156 interceptions for
touchdowns, the most in the NFL over that span. KC is 119-28-1 (.807) when scoring a defensive TD and 16-3-1 (.825) when recording
a safety…Kansas City has recorded 6.0 or more team sacks 62 times in team history. In those 62 games, Kansas City has a 56-5-1
(.911) record and has outscored its opponents 1,824-766…In 13 seasons, DE Carlos Dunlap has recorded 100.0 sacks. Dunlap got his
100th-career sack on Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence in a 27-17 victory on Nov. 13, 2022…Since entering the NFL in 2020, Chiefs CB
L’Jarius Sneed ranks first among all cornerbacks in sacks and sack yards.
