A person's development is shaped by cultural, social, economic, and political forces rather than just psychological factors. This is represented by a traditional Russian doll with smaller dolls nested inside larger ones. As we go our separate ways after working together, we should strive to find and promote good thoughts, good words, and good deeds based on what we've learned that day.

10. Our work is done, our day is past
We’ll go our separate ways
And I will hold so tight and fast
What I have learned today.
I’ve given with my heart and mind
The effort that it needs.
And I will strive in me to find,
Good thoughts, good words, good deeds.

This model is the idealistic and simplified representation of a fully incorporated Steiner/Waldorf school and the complex set of relationships within the school community. It is useful in showing that while the teaching staff and parents have defined responsibilities and roles and make differing contributions to the life of the school; they are operating within particular values systems. Parents have the freedom to embrace their own choices regarding lifestyle, beliefs and parenting practices and while these values may be informed to a greater or lesser extent by Anthroposophy.

This is representation we compiled to merge the Bronfenbrenner model and Stehlik's spheres within a Steiner school community. A Steiner child may be protected up to the Microsystem, with parents, the school and the teachers all incorporating Anthroposophical philosophies to some degree. But unfortunately the bubble can only stretch so far before the contemporary and modern influences begin to impact on the child. These are symbolised with the bright red and blue circles.
Alan Wagstaff saysIt is interesting to note that the Silkwood School in Nerang on the Gold Coast applies the Three Frame Day completely, and they are rated in the top 10% of the NAPLAN testing. So there is something to be said for this holistic and child centred approach.Kellie, would now compare and contrast the play we saw at Beaconsfield state school to the Play based learning we saw at Eimeo State School
