INTRO
Branding is not just something that only large corporate marketing departments are concerned with. Product
Managers, product marketing and business owners spend a lot of time figuring out positioning statements for
their products to ensure that the product brand will stick. The reality is that the vast majority of us are not going to
be working for the same company for the full length of our careers – so we need to make sure we spend some
time building our own personal brand. Today with the digital footprint you as an individual are creating through
your content and presence on social media you are a brand, like it or not. Owning your personal brand means
owning your personal future. Personal branding not only allows you to harness your essence in the here and now
– it gives you the base to build on as you grow, change and meet the future. When you own how you are
presented today both online and off, you are one step closer to owning where you will be tomorrow.
