2. Modern technology use in modern world
technology has revolutionized our world and daily lives. Technology has created
amazing tools and resources, putting useful information at our fingertips.
Modern technology has paved the way for multi-functional devices like the smartwatch
and the smartphone. Computers are increasingly faster, more portable, and higher-
powered than ever before. With all of these revolutions, technology has also made our
lives easier, faster, better, and more fun.
Here are 10 ways in which technology has become an integral part of everyday life of modern world
Communication technology
Communication technology is the transfer of messages (information) among people and/or
machines through the use of technology. This processing of information can help people make
decisions, solve problems, and control machines. NCTE 4 Use written language
to communicate effectively. There are four main types of communication technology that have
contributed to the ease of sending messages: telephone, radio, television, and internet.
Office productivity
There is a perception these days that office workers are not as productive as they should be.
Whether or not this is the case, the emerging office technology pr.
Word processing ,spreadsheet ,digital presentation and other office productivity software has
become place.
Record keeping and retrieval
There are various manual (filing cabinets) and electronic (computer-aided and
online) ways to record, store and retrieve information. Each association should
decide on a record-keeping system that suits its particular needs, circumstances and
resources (availability of space or computers). The system should be functional,
accurate, reliable and user-friendly.
Records retrieval is the process of finding or locating old data, documents, files, or records,
such as legal documents, account records, medical records, or insurance records. ... You simply
file the request and get the records fast.
3. internet and search
An internet search, otherwise known as a search query, is an entry into a search engine that
yields both paid and organic results. The paid results are the ads that appear at the top and the
bottom of the page, and they are marked accordingly. The organic results are the unmarked
results that appear in between the ads. An internet search, otherwise known as a search query, is
an entry into a search engine that yields both paid and organic results.
decentralised work and cloud computing
Decentralized Cloud computing is fuelling a significant number of the present internet-based
applications and administrations. ... A great many clients and their gadgets consistently
interface with these focal cloud groups for storing and accessing documents related to online
records.
analytics and new decision structures
Analytics allows for better planning and insight based on the patterns of their customers.
Companies that fully utilize their customer behaviors to make decisions outperform their
competition by a whopping 85%! ... This information is then used to make important
marketing decisions.
automata robotics and fature factories
We know that robotic automation makes sense for manufacturing–it's easy to implement,
extremely reliable, and cost-effective. It's up to us to guide end-users and present the clear
economic benefits, improved product quality, and increased worker safety that comes
with automation.
adoption of virtual and augmented reality
Recent technological innovations have created new opportunities for the increased adoption of
virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications in medicine. ...
Historically, adoption to clinical use has been limited in part by the ability of the technology to
achieve a sufficient quality of experience.
Augmented reality (AR) adds digital elements to a live view often by using the camera on a
smartphone. Examples of augmented reality experiences include Snapchat lenses and the
game Pokemon Go. Virtual reality (VR) implies a complete immersion experience that shuts
out the physical world.
4. conversational system
Conversational Systems are intelligent machines that can understand language and conduct a
written or verbal conversation with a customer. Their use is aimed at improving customer
experience by steering interaction. Conversational computing is a style of human-
computer interaction where users have a conversation with a computer program via a text or
voice chat. ... Conversational computing makes use of natural language processing and
artificial intelligence.
information security
Information Security is not only about securing information from unauthorized
access. Information Security is basically the practice of preventing unauthorized
access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, inspection, recording or
destruction of information. Information can be physical or electronic one.
Information can be anything like Your details or we can say your profile on
social media, your data in mobile phone, your biometrics etc. Thus Information
Security spans so many research areas like Cryptography, Mobile Computing,
Cyber Forensics, Online Social Media etc.
During First World War, Multi-tier Classification System was developed keeping
in mind sensitivity of information. Information Security programs are build
around 3 objectives, commonly known as CIA – Confidentiality, Integrity,
Availability.
1. Confidentiality – means information is not disclosed to unauthorized
individuals, entities and process. For example if we say I have a password
for my Gmail account but someone saw while I was doing a login into Gmail
account. In that case my password has been compromised and
Confidentiality has been breached.
2. Integrity – means maintaining accuracy and completeness of data. This
means data cannot be edited in an unauthorized way. For example if an
employee leaves an organisation then in that case data for that employee in
all departments like accounts, should be updated to reflect status to JOB
LEFT so that data is complete and accurate and in addition to this only
authorized person should be allowed to edit employee data.
3. Availability – means information must be available when needed. For
example if one needs to access information of a particular employee to
check whether employee has outstanded the number of leaves, in that case
it requires collaboration from different organizational teams like network
operations, development operations, incident response and policy/change
management.
