Subject Summary
This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to construct bulkheads for decorative purposes, to
contain fittings, such as range hoods and cupboards, to conceal services, and to help facilitate changes in ceiling heights,
meeting all relevant requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, work health and safety
(WHS), and Commonwealth and state or territory legislation.
The unit includes preparing for sheeting bulkheads with plasterboard, lining boards, reconstituted timber products and
metal or plastic decorative panels; and installation of bulkheads which may be hung from, incorporated into, or fastened
onto a structure in situ.
Completion of the general construction induction training program specified by the model Code of Practice for
Construction Work is required for any person who is to carry out construction work. Achievement
of CPCCWHS1001Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Requests for Extensions - If required, you may apply for an extension to the assessment completion date and/or special
consideration based on negotiation between you and your teacher. Your application should occur no less than 48 hours
prior to an assessment task due date.
Re-assessment - If your assessment work is deemed ‘not-yet-satisfactory’ you will be given one opportunity to re-sit the
assessment task or resubmit your assessment work taking into account feedback received from your teacher. For graded
subjects, you will be entitled to no higher than a pass for any re-assessed work. See your assessment coversheet for more

Assessment Feedback - You will receive assessment results and feedback within two weeks of submitting or completing
the assessment tasks. Your teacher will advise you how feedback will be given.
