Aims To create a pilot project that can be launched at the start of 2012 The most important aspect of this is to put in place a form of entry to membership that is rigorous, well tested and implemented. The intention is absolutely not to start by creating a full accreditation/ assessment process that matches the Membership Criteria and Standards Document We will commence a process by which coaches, supervisors, trainers, organisations etc., become involved in entry standards and these mature over time in a way that is always inclusive and rigorous and doable. 6. The How What do we measure? Some suggestions Portfolio of trainings, coaching experience, supervision and other evidence Test of competence based on live session Test of espoused model against questionnaire to selected clients facilitated by your supervisor Training School submits in house process for approval Must be inclusive – i.e. Council for Higher Education AND other routes All options come with a pass with development plan or simply a development plan with the option to reapply September 2011 6 COMENSA Membership Standards and Criteria Implementation Project
7. The Who Who is qualified to assess coaches? Who confers qualifications? Does COMENSA manage this process itself? Or do we partner with other bodies? Capacity in SA? ICF in SA means that there is a pool of people who have been assessing coach competence already SA University and other training schools have been assessing coaches as part of their programmes More experienced coaches can be invited to a community of practice of assessors and moderators Supervisors can play a role but how do we qualify supervisors?
