I lead ICRISAT's pearl millet breeding activities in Western & Central Africa (WCA). I am actively involved in integrating conventional, participatory & marker-assisted breeding approaches for the improvement of dryland cereals (pearl millet, sorghum, ...) & strengthening seed systems for small-holder crop-livestock producers in the arid & semi-arid tropics & subtropics globally; training the next generation of the world's plant breeders; stimulating cross-disciplinary international research collaborations; & making life interesting for my managers within ICRISAT, while myself managing Product Line 2 of the CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Cereals (Resilient & nutritious pearl millets...
