  1. I have based my product on the successful pop music magazine Top of the Pops. I have used a similar colour scheme and featured the same artists, such as Justin Bieber, JLS and The Wanted, because both magazines have the same target audience and demographic.

  5. The social group which my media product is targeting is young girls aged 13 – 16 who are interested in pop music. I have used artists such as Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber, who are around the same age as my target audience.
  6. I have used Taylor Swift as my main cover model. Taylor Swift is a successful country pop singer, who would be seen as a good role model for young girls as she doesn’t behave irresponsibly and does not drink or do drugs. I have also used Justin Bieber on my front cover as he is very popular with my target audience. He is also seen as a good role model, so the parents of girls buying my magazine would think my magazine is acceptable.
  7. I have based my magazine on Top of the Pops magazine as they both have a similar demographic and audience. I would get the BBC to distribute my magazine because they already distribute Top of the Pops which is very successful, so they would know that my magazine would also sell as it attracts the same audience as Top of the Pops.
  8. My target audience is teenage girls aged 13-17. Their favourite genre of music is pop music and their favourite female singer is Taylor Swift, as shown on the pie charts I have made based on my audience research. That is why I have used Taylor Swift as my main cover line model and included a lot of pop stars in my media product.
  9. The most popular male artist is Justin Bieber, so I have used Justin Bieber on my front cover. My target audience’s preferred music magazine is Top of the Pops, which I have used as inspiration for my media product. The style of my magazine is very feminine which is good because 75% of my target audience would describe their style as feminine.
  10. To attract my target audience I have used colour scheme of pastel, feminine colours like pink, purple and yellow. I have called my magazine ‘Teen dream’ which applies to the target audience as they are teenage girls. I have used artist such as Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber in my media product as they are two of the most popular artists with my target audience.
  11. I have learnt a lot about Photoshop and Blogger because I have never used them before constructing my product. On Photoshop I have learnt how to manipulate images by cropping, changing the colour and the texture to make the image more visually attractive. On Blogger I have learnt how to upload blog entries and how to edit and organise these blog entries.
  12. I have also used different font styles from Dafont.com, where I have copied the fonts and added effects on Photoshop.
  13. I feel that I have improved a lot since my preliminary project. For example, I have got better at cutting out part of an image, like the image of my main model. Also I have improved in organising the layout of the page, as in the preliminary project some of the cover lines overlap the main image, making it look untidy, however in my finished product I have made sure that the cover lines fit around the side of the image like a frame so it looks more professional. Additionally, I have used shadow and gradient effects on the text on my final product which I did not know about while making my preliminary project, this again makes my magazine look more professional and visually attractive.
