The basic foundation of faith is having "confidence" in God. It is only then that you know you can trust Him completely. http://who-god-is.com/the-foundation-of-faith-is-confidence-in-god
3. 5. By faith Enoch was translated that he
should not see death; and was not found,
because God had translated him: for before
his translation he had this testimony, that he
pleased God.
6. But without faith it is impossible to please
Him: for he that cometh to God must believe
that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them
that diligently seek Him.
4. WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLETO PLEASE
HIM - without “confidence” in God – in his
fidelity, his truth, his wisdom, his promises. God
cannot be pleased with the man who has no
confidence in him; who doubts the truth of his
declarations and promises; who does not believe
that his ways are right. The requirement of faith
in God is just what we require of our children,
spouses, and friends, as the indispensable
condition of our being pleased with them.
5. a simple “confidence” in God.
When you have total confidence in a person,
you believe what they say without question
and know you can trust them completely.
So how much more should we have total
“confidence” in God, who loves us more than
any person ever could, and always wants the
very best for our life.
6.
7. I found out the hard way that sometimes
what I THINK is best for me is much different
than what God KNOWS is best for me.
I had planned to do a certain thing for several
years, and truly thought it was God’s plan.
I tried to wait patiently for God to bring this
plan to pass, but I waited and waited.
AND… God never brought the plan to pass.
8. tell me to do something that was completely
different from anything I had ever imagined.
It certainly was not the plan I had imagined.
AND…I had absolutely no clue how to even
START doing this new thing.
I was very disappointed because I had felt
sure that my plan was God’s plan. I had
wanted this thing so badly that I had
convinced myself that God wanted it too.
9. things looked much different and better.
All I could see from my perspective was total
overwhelm.
He had told me to do something I had no clue
how to even start, much less be able to
continue on a daily basis for the long term.
All I could see was something I had already
done or had seen someone else do. I was in a
rut and couldn’t see anything better.
10. Since God always wants to give me HisVery
Best, He will never tell me to do something
He won’t give me the strength and
supernatural ability to accomplish.
I also had to remind myself that God has
chosen me to do this thing BECAUSE I didn’t
know how to do it.
He wanted me to HAVE to depend on Him to
show me how HE wanted me to do it.
11. I first had to have total “confidence” in God
and His Plan for my life.
Then I was able to trust Him completely to
bring to pass the plan He knew was best for
me.
When you have developed this level of
“confidence” in God, walking with Him gets
easier each day.
12. The first reward is God’s control of our lives. The person who
neglects the Lord soon spins out of control as the devil moves in
and takes over. If only he would fall in love with Jesus, walking and
talking with Him! God would soon show this person that Satan has
no real dominion over him and he would allow Christ to control
him.
The second reward that comes by faith is having “pure light.”
When we walk with the Lord, we are rewarded with light,
direction, discernment, revelation—a certain “knowing” that God
gives us.
The third reward that comes with a walk of faith is protection from
all our enemies. “No weapon that is formed against thee shall
prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). In the original Hebrew, this verse is
translated as: “No plan, no instrument of destruction, no satanic
artillery shall push you or run over you, but it will be done away
with.”
13. It’s like driving at night:
Your headlights will only show a short
distance ahead of the car.
But asYOU keep moving ahead, the
headlights will continue to show the same
short distance ahead until you finally reach
your destination.
God can see the whole road and He wants
you to trust Him to show it to you, even if it’s
a short distance at a time.
14. it was in the midst of terrible situations in the
world at that time.
He didn’t have a Bible.
He didn’t have the guidance of the Holy
Spirit.
He didn’t have easy access to Godly teaching.
BUT He loved God with everything in him,
and by doing that he PLEASED GOD.
15. We need to develop such a “confidence” in
God that we totally trust Him to always show
us the right direction and bring about things
in our life that will always be His Best.
This life of a few years is preparation for our
life in Heaven, which will be forever and ever!
Why make this life so important that you
forget about the fact that it is just the
precursor to an eternity with God.
