Andy Williams, Director Poland, British Council
Andy Williams has been the Director of the British Council in Poland since the summer of 2011. Over
the past twenty years, his work in education and international cultural relations has taken him from
London to Gdansk and Damascus, Bangkok and Baku. Andy was originally trained and worked as a
theatre director in the 1980s, introducing British audiences to challenging new European writers. His
first experience of Poland was from 1991 to 1996 working for the British Council at the University of
Gdansk.
Dr Tom Fleming, Director, Tom Fleming Associates (UK)
Dr Tom Fleming is a leading international expert on the creative economy, cultural policy and creative
education. His work focuses on advising governments, municipalities and institutions across the world
to develop effective research, policy, strategy and action across the creative economy. This includes a
strong focus on evaluation, strategy and innovative research.
Tom is Director of the UK’s leading creative economy and cultural consultancy and research agency,
Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy (TFCC), which he set up in 2002. Tom leads an interdisciplinary and
multi-lingual team which is delivering multiple projects across the world. He has led multiple research,
strategy and evaluation programmes in over 50 countries. Central areas of expertise include high level
policy and strategy for the cultural sector and creative economy; deep knowledge on the relationship
between culture, creativity and economic development; thought leadership on creative education
models; and unparalleled expertise in sector investment, mapping, clustering and creative cities.

Pauline Tambling, Joint CEO, Creative & Cultural Skills and Managing Director, National Skills
Academy for Creative & Cultural Skills (UK)
Until April 2009 when she set up the National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural Skills, Pauline was
Chief Operating Officer of Creative & Cultural Skills. She previously worked at Arts Council England
(1998 – 2007) in five senior roles with a wide range of responsibilities and led several major initiatives
involving education and training, including setting up Creative Partnerships, the £130 million scheme
to engage young people in schools with creative practitioners and organizations. She was also
responsible for setting up the Council’s research and development department, managed the merger
of the then Arts Council of England with the ten independent regional arts associations, and led the
capital and stabilization teams.
Pauline was Head of Education at the Royal Opera House from 1983 to 1997 where she created the
department, running a comprehensive programme of workshops and main stage performances for
schools as well as teachers’ courses and international exchanges. With La Monnaie, Brussels and the
Paris Opera, she co-founded Reseo, a European network of opera house education departments.
She has an MA from Leeds University and has written academic articles and devised programmes for
BBC Television.
She is currently Chair of Shape (an arts and disability organisation in London), a board member of
Drama UK and High House Production Park, a member of the Clore Leadership Programme Strategy
Group and a member of North Hertfordshire College Board (NHC) and chair of the da Vinci Studio
School for Creative Enterprise.
Previous non-executive roles include as editorial board member of Cultural Trends, a member of the
Arts for a Healing and Learning Environment committee at St George’s NHS Trust in South London and
a trustee of Shakespeare Schools Festival.
Barbara Bregar-Mrzlikar, Director, CEED Slovenia
Barbara Bregar-Mrzlikar is the director of CEED Slovenia, the Centre for Entrepreneurship & Executive
Development. She started her career in corporate communications and international marketing,
worked as strategic marketing manager and was a Strategy Office Manager supporting management
boards on strategic plans, M&A projects and other strategic initiatives. Prior to her arrival at CEED,
Barbara spent over 10 years at HERMES SoftLab, a leading fast-growing Slovene software development
company that grew from a start-up to an international business with offices all over Europe as well as
in the USA. From this experience she joined CEED to help entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.
CEED's mission is to contribute to developing a more open, innovative and entrepreneurial society in
Slovenia. Barbara believes that we need more entrepreneurial spirit as a society and that one of the
key challenges is in changing the mind-set and attitude of young people – starting as it develops in
schools.

Andrej Mercina, Director/Partner, Trije Arhitekti bureau (Slovenia)
Andrej Mercina was born in Ljubljana and is a qualified architect. For the last eight years he has been
part of Trije arhitekti, a crossover design firm involved in a series of projects ranging from graphic
design to interiors and architecture to landscape design. All of Trije arhitekti's work has a common
vision: to let the dreams or spreadsheets of the clients all come true in a uniquely coherent design
entity! Some of these projects have achieved awards, some located in Slovenia, some around Europe
and some in Kuwait.
Andrej says that participating in CENTRES was “a fantastic refresher of basic personal foundations.
Knowledge and experience were confronted with young energy, but also young and old challenges.
The project awakened memories and helped establish opened communication and trusting
relationships”.
Per Lange, Acting Deputy Headteacher, Vejlebroskolen (Denmark)
Teaching Science, history, social studies and sports for 7th

graders (14 to 16 years olds), Per
has been involved in entrepreneurship teaching through projects in school over the last couple of
years. He was recently involved the CENTREs pilot through an Art project for 9th
graders developing
creative processes and entrepreneurship.
Anne Hanni
Anne participated in the CENTREs pilot activity in Estonia through ENTRUM, where she was a winner of
their Youth Entrepreneurship Programme “Creative industries – design” branch 2013. She contributed
as a designer and an artist in launching of the creative industries start-up ‘Tegude Päevik’ (Good Deeds
Diary). The idea of the start-up was to design, produce and sell a school diary with formulas, rules and
other information students would find interesting. Each day the diary encourages its owner to do a
good deed with inspirational messages such as “Bring your mother some flowers!” or “Tell someone
how much they mean to you!” In four months of ENTRUM incubation, the start-up team created 284
new deeds and 64 new topics for the diary. A few months later the diary could be found in stores.
Anne was a 19-year-old high school student of Pärnu Hansagümnaasium when she decided to
participate in ENTRUM. Today she is a BA student at Tallinn University studying art. She is the owner
and CEO of her own enterprise, which produces calendars and notebooks for school students and sells
them over all Estonia. She continues cooperation with ENTRUM as a mentor.
Entrum has been a great opportunity, says Anne. During the implementation of their creative project
the team experienced both positive and negative. Setbacks were certainly what developed an
understanding that the real world does not always go the way one imagines at first. Fortunately the
team had a wonderful mentor who always encouraged and helped find motivation again when it got
lost.

Keidi Mäe
Keidi participated in the CENTREs pilot activity in Estonia through ENTRUM, where she was a finalist in
the “Creative industries – design” branch of the ENTRUM Youth Entrepreneurship Programme, 2013.
Her creative industries start-up, “Amberella,” designs practical and beautiful raincoats that free one’s
hands from an inconvenient umbrella and an uncomfortable plastic coat. During four months in
ENTRUM incubation she created and developed a prototype and met with potential marketers.
During her participation in the programme she was invited to contribute voluntarily as an editor of
ENTRUM fashion blog. Keidi also achieved second place at the programme’s Opinion Contest.
She joined ENTRUM as a high school student of Pärnu Koidula Gümnaasium. After graduating a year
ago, Keidi was accepted at the Baltic Film and Media School in Tallinn where she studies movie
production. She also volunteers as a video operator for Student Television. Keidi also continues to
volunteer as editor and photographer for ENTRUM’s fashion blog.
Keidi likes to take up challenges and try new things. She is eager to create and improvise. It is
important for her to continue with self-education, self-development and self-fulfilment. ENTRUM kick-
started this path of self-discovery.
Silja Suntola, Project Director, Aalto University School of Economics, Small Business Center
Silja is the Project Director of Creative Industries Finland, a national network for creative economy
development coordinated by the Aalto University School of Economics, SBC.
She has over 10 years of experience developing the cultural and creative sector and running large
national and international development projects. She has been active in furthering the discussion
between policy-makers, developers and business leaders in promoting awareness of the widening
roles and possibilities of the creative economy in the society. Her research interests pertain to art and
design based approaches in organizational management and leadership.
She also has over 7 years of experience from the music business, working as producer and engineer at
Master Recording, one of the largest studios in Helsinki area, of which she still is co-owner of. Her
numerous projects with some of the biggest artists in Finland also gave her a strong feel for the
challenges and possibilities in the business.
She holds a master’s degree from the Sibelius Academy where she majored in Arts Management, as
well as Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, where she majored in Music Production and
Engineering. USA. She also holds a BM degree from Berklee College of Music, where she was awarded
a National academy of Recording Arts and Sciences scholarship for outstanding achievements in music
technology. She is preparing her doctoral thesis to the University of Tampere, School of Business
Administration.

Łukasz Badowski, PhD, Education Department in Copernicus Science Centre (Poland)
As a professional educator, Łukasz Badowski is himself educated in a variety fields, including a PhD in
physics, some university years of mathematics, the study of rhetoric and language, as well as creative
writing.
Currently employed at the Copernicus Science Centre, Poland's biggest science centre and main hub
for informal education programmes, Łukasz coordinates projects involving web resources, creativity
and science through school education workshops.
Petra Tarjanne, Ministry of Employment and the Economy (Finland)
Petra Tarjanne currently works for the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy as Ministerial
Adviser in creative economy.
During her career in the Ministry she was first in charge of developing business development tools for
creative industries in the public sector, and then headed a three-year strategic program for creative
economy. She is currently part of the Industrial policy team and the Intangible Value in Business -
Development Program.
Earlier on in her career, Petra worked as a Producer, Executive Producer and Managing Director of Film
Production companies, her productions including feature films for theatrical release, children's films,
and TV series for major Finnish broadcasting companies. From 1992 to 1995 she was employed as a
Lecturer and Producer at the film department of the University of Art and Design, Helsinki (UIAH),
where she developed the Producers curriculum as well as supervising student productions.
Between 1998 and 2003, Petra was an EAVE Group Leader and a member of the Pedagogical Team.
EAVE is a European training program for professional audiovisual producers. Petra Tarjanne has been a
Vice Chairman of Finland’s State Film Board, a member of board of SATU ry, the Finnish Producers’
Association and a member of the boards of experts of several Finnish media schools. She has also been
actively engaged in training and consulting work.
Lukáš Hula, M.Econ, Researcher, National Institute of Education, Czech Republic
Lukáš has worked at the Czech practice enterprise Central Office (CEFIF) since 1999, and became head
of the Central Office in 2002. He is responsible for creating curricula for secondary vocational
education at a national level. His work relates to general areas of national curriculum embedded
across curricula (such as Economics and Financial Literacy) as well as to whole national curricula for
different fields of study (such as Economics and Entrepreneurship or Information Services).
Lukáš has represented the Czech Republic at different working groups on entrepreneurship education
set by the European Commission since 2004. He has been involved in creating a system of financial
education for the Czech Republic since 2006, and for the last couple of years he has also been involved
in the Czech National Qualifications Framework.

Anu Lõhmus, CEO, Tallinn Business Incubators (Estonia)
Anu is the initiator of Tallinn Creative incubator founded in 2006. Having a long-term personal
experience as a creative industries entrepreneur and consulting creative industries’ start-ups in the
business incubator, she realized the acute need for a special environment for creative people. An
environment, which would support their entrepreneurship activities as well as strengthen the
understanding that besides self-realization and making the world a better place, the creative field may
be and is economically resultant.
Anu and her professional team actively contributed to the success of CENTRES pilot activities in
Estonia, making the ENTRUM creative industries branch creation and development possible. Thanks to
Anu’s contribution, hundreds of Estonian youngsters know what creative industries’ business-
incubators are and how they can be useful to them once they have their own creative idea to launch.
Aivar Haller, entrepreneur and ENTRUM mentor, Estonia
Aivar Haller is a serial entrepreneur and mentor, known in Estonia as a founder and owner of many
successful retail, sports and education companies as well as social enterprises. Being a chairman of the
board of Waldorf School of Tallinn, a board member of the Estonian Parents’ Association and Estonian
Education Forum and a member of Estonian Educational Terminology Lexicon Working Group, Aivar
actively contributes to the promotion and development of creative and enterprise education in
Estonia.
In 2012 Aivar started contributing to ENTRUM pilot activities in the field of creative industries,
providing mentorship and support to start-ups launched by Anne Hanni (“Tegude päevik”) and Keidi
Mäe (“Amberella”). Aivar will also continue to mentor ENTRUM youngsters this season (2013-2014).
