1. Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing
this product?
To begin I am going to talk about the specific programmes that I used. Then
follow on with some pictures of the programmes in use and with a small
explanation on how parts of that programmed would work.
To construct my music magazine together I used a programmed very popular
within the media industry called ‘’Adobe Photoshop’’. In this programme I
constructed my entire front page, contents page and double page spread. I
created various shapes of different size and explored the use of images.
Throughout my time using Adobe Photoshop I found it fairly difficult to get
used to. After a while of getting used to the way it worked and learnt what
button done what, I finally found myself the basics and went from there. It
taught me that with constructing a piece such as a music magazine, you are
not limited to what you can do. By this I mean with the types of texts you can
use, by using different texts I was able to give my magazine that ‘edgy’ effect
to make it more realistic.
Another important programme I used was the Internet. This played a vital
part in my music magazine as I constantly used it to do research. I
consistently researched rock magazines in order to find a type of magazine
that I wanted to almost base my own on. In the end I did find myself a
magazine, without the Internet I wouldn’t of had a clue where to begin. By
basing my own magazine on a magazine that had already been created, I
2. found the task I was given much easier and made my music magazine feel
more realistic as readers could relate to the similar layouts.
