• The first and most critical step in this process is to
master your own marketing skills. For example, if
you’re asking yourself questions like “how would I find
businesses to hire me?” I know this option wouldn’t
be a good fit for you. Why? Because if you can’t find
customers, you won’t be able to help a small business
find customers.

• Read books, attend events, find a mentor and study
direct response marketing. Be a sponge. Take at least
12-24 months and get really good at marketing and
lead generation before you offer this service to others.

# 2 Pick a Niche
• The next thing you want to do is pick a niche. I would
focus on small business owners who actually HAVE
money to spend on marketing and lead generation.
Do not try to approach broke small business owners.
Focus on niches such as doctors, lawyers, dentists,
and mechanics.

• Picking a niche is vital. You can’t be all things to all
people. You want to brand yourself in a way that
attracts a certain type of customer. For example, you
could brand yourself as the consultant who “helps
dentists flood their offices with new customers.”

• Once you pick a niche, set up your website. Determine
your rates. Do a small experiment with 3-4 local
businesses to get your business off the ground. Even if
you have to lower your prices, or offer something for
free initially, this is a good way to launch your
business, because if you are good at what you do, you
will get lots of referrals and testimonials.

• Once you’ve finished your launch and have helped
several local businesses generate leads, and refined
your processes, you should have enough testimonials
and referrals to keep growing your business
organically.
