Brand Image and House Style
For example, the house style of Horsegirl’s website is quite clear
through its vibrant colour scheme demonstrated on its home page, as
well as the band’s logo which is made to look as if it has been
scribbled onto a ripped piece of paper – this gives the website an
overall sense of authenticity and originality, which contributes to the
band’s house style and reinforces the band’s independent way of
operating (implying that they don’t perform under any kind of major
corporation within the mainstream music industry).
House style for the Bad Sports video is created partly as a result of the
band’s logo, as well as the camerawork used in the video. The logo’s
colour theme consists of red, a colour commonly associated with
darker themes – this corresponds with the video’s narrative as it does
deal with alcoholism and depression. Camerawork used in the video
often consists of excessive close-ups, therefore creating a personal
and intimate tone for the central character and emphasising the
seriousness of the story.
