Social media allows over 4.5 billion people to connect and share information through virtual communities and networks. Teens particularly use social media to stay connected with friends and feel more confident. However, spending too much time on social platforms can negatively impact physical and mental health by causing issues like depression, anxiety, fear of missing out, sleep problems, and addiction. Cyberbullying is also a risk, as it can emotionally harm victims. While social media has benefits if used in moderation, excessive use may do more harm than good.
