The Brigade International Structure
   The Girls' Brigade International Council (GBIC) is the
  coordinating and communication arm of 'The Girls' Brigade' in
  the World. The GBIC, comprising representatives from over 60
  countries in which The Girls’ Brigade functions, meets once
  every four years in locations around the world. The role of the
  Girls’ Brigade International Council is to:
 adopt policies and principles for the operation of the Girls'
  Brigade in the world
 recognise Girls' Brigade work in new countries
 preserve the integrity of the Girls' Brigade world-wide
 seek out appropriate partners for extension work
 seek financial support
 communicate opportunities for extension work
 facilitate communication among Girls' Brigade countries
 accept new countries in the Girls' Brigade International Council

                             Events Happening
 Arise Project
 This project involves many different events such as roadshows
 etc. Arise is often quoted as standing for:
 Activities, Resources, Ideas, Support and Equipping. These
 mean that the children will be able to attend activity days to
 learn about Jesus and meet up with other GB members, they
 will also have resources adapted to meet the specific child's
 needs. Moreover, the ideas for activities will be new and made
 in a better way to encourage children, as well as supporting
 children with their work and helping to set up further youth
 groups. And the final idea of Arise is to train people to work with
 children so they are equipped for anything the children may do.
Girls Brigade – Scotland
                                  National Groups
National Groups were created to focus on specific aspects of the work of The Girls'
Brigade in Scotland. They comprise approximately six volunteers per group, one of
whom takes on the role of Group Leader, plus a member of the GB HQ staff team who
supports and services the work of the group.
The groups created are:
Mission - To encourage the practice of worship and the development of faith within the
Girls Brigade in Scotland.
Training - To provide relevant and up-to-date training and programme material in all
aspects of the work of The Girls' Brigade in Scotland. (with the exception of D of E and
Camp which are represented in separate groups)
D of E - To keep the Girls' Brigade in Scotland abreast of current practice in the Duke of
Edinburgh's Award Scheme and ensure training and support for GB members in all
aspects of the award.
Camp - To provide training to facilitate camps and to support GB members who camp
and advise on best practice. They also organise and run National Camps on a regular
basis.
Property - The effective management of all properties of the Girls' Brigade in Scotland
including responsibility for Health & Safety and an awareness of insurance related
issues.

Camper's Training

10 – 11 MARCH 2012 AT TAYVIEW
LODGES, GUAY, BALLINLUIG, PERTHSHIRE

This training will be provided by the Camp Group and is
required to be followed up by a separate practical element
which will allow participants to put the knowledge learned
into operation. The training is aimed at Officers who wish to
gain a Camp qualification to allow them to attend Camps with
their girls. This qualification can then be further progressed
by completing the Camp Coordinator or Canvas Camp

  • 2. The Brigade International Structure The Girls' Brigade International Council (GBIC) is the coordinating and communication arm of 'The Girls' Brigade' in the World. The GBIC, comprising representatives from over 60 countries in which The Girls’ Brigade functions, meets once every four years in locations around the world. The role of the Girls’ Brigade International Council is to:  adopt policies and principles for the operation of the Girls' Brigade in the world  recognise Girls' Brigade work in new countries  preserve the integrity of the Girls' Brigade world-wide  seek out appropriate partners for extension work  seek financial support  communicate opportunities for extension work  facilitate communication among Girls' Brigade countries  accept new countries in the Girls' Brigade International Council

GB - England & Wales Events Happening  Arise Project  This project involves many different events such as roadshows etc. Arise is often quoted as standing for: Activities, Resources, Ideas, Support and Equipping. These mean that the children will be able to attend activity days to learn about Jesus and meet up with other GB members, they will also have resources adapted to meet the specific child's needs. Moreover, the ideas for activities will be new and made in a better way to encourage children, as well as supporting children with their work and helping to set up further youth groups. And the final idea of Arise is to train people to work with children so they are equipped for anything the children may do.
  • 8. Girls Brigade – Scotland National Groups National Groups were created to focus on specific aspects of the work of The Girls' Brigade in Scotland. They comprise approximately six volunteers per group, one of whom takes on the role of Group Leader, plus a member of the GB HQ staff team who supports and services the work of the group. The groups created are: Mission - To encourage the practice of worship and the development of faith within the Girls Brigade in Scotland. Training - To provide relevant and up-to-date training and programme material in all aspects of the work of The Girls' Brigade in Scotland. (with the exception of D of E and Camp which are represented in separate groups) D of E - To keep the Girls' Brigade in Scotland abreast of current practice in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme and ensure training and support for GB members in all aspects of the award. Camp - To provide training to facilitate camps and to support GB members who camp and advise on best practice. They also organise and run National Camps on a regular basis. Property - The effective management of all properties of the Girls' Brigade in Scotland including responsibility for Health & Safety and an awareness of insurance related issues.

GB – Scotland Events Happening Camper's Training 10 – 11 MARCH 2012 AT TAYVIEW LODGES, GUAY, BALLINLUIG, PERTHSHIRE This training will be provided by the Camp Group and is required to be followed up by a separate practical element which will allow participants to put the knowledge learned into operation. The training is aimed at Officers who wish to gain a Camp qualification to allow them to attend Camps with their girls. This qualification can then be further progressed by completing the Camp Coordinator or Canvas Camp
