38. “Where have I seen that before?”
Well, actually, you’ve probably seen it all over the place. It’s the new flu vaccine campaign public service
announcement from the Chicago Department of Public Health.
Perhaps you’ve seen it on a Chicago billboard. Maybe you’ve seen it on a CTA train, platform, bus, or bus
shelter. More recently, you may have seen it on one of several Neighbor Carts throughout Chicago.
The “Neighbor Carts” project is Neighbor Capital’s new social purpose business. The carts provide fresh
and affordable produce in otherwise underserved areas. Also, the carts provide ownership opportunities
for unemployed and underemployed individuals.

communities and providing healthy fruits
and vegetables are concepts that the
Chicago Department of Public Health can
really get behind!
How can the Neighbor Carts possibly get
any better? How about we slap our “Get A
Flu Shot” banner on there?
While the flu may only make an otherwise
healthy person mildly ill for a few days, the
flu can prove fatal for others in the
community. That’s why it’s important for
everyone to get vaccinated (watch Dr.
Choucair talk more about the flu).
To find out how to get your flu shot, you
should call your doctor, your pharmacy, or
311. Also, a list of CDPH-sponsored flu
clinics is available for download.
