3. Location: Athirappalli 63 km from Thrissur and Vazhachal 68
km from Thrissur.
Athirappalli and Vazhachal, the two scenic and popular
waterfalls on the edge of the Sholayar forest ranges are
just 5 km apart. The Athirappalli Falls joins the
Chalakkudy river after plummeting down a drop of 80
feet. Vazhachal is part of the Chalakkudy river. Both the
waterfalls, their cool, misty waters cascading down in
the backdrop of thick green forest and rocky terrain, are
a scintillating experience to visitors.
Nearest railway station: Chalakudy, about 30 km away.

5. Location- A few kilometres to the west of
Cherrapunjee
At 335 meters it is the highest plunge waterfall in
India and the 4th highest in the World. Just a 10
minutes drive from main town of Cherapunji, the
fall is located at another blunt end of the plateau.
The gorge here is green and trees grow like a mini
rainforest. From the edge of the cliff the waterfall
looked like a white rope in a sea of green forests.

7. Location- located in Shimoga and Uttara Kannada district
border.
Jog Falls is created by the Sharavathi River falling from a
height of 253 m (830 ft), making it the second-highest
plunge waterfall in India. There are four different
streams or tracks into which the River Sharavati is
split, comprising the entire structure of Jog Falls, and
these streams are: Raja, Rani, Rocket and Roarer. The
best season to visit this waterfall is the monsoons
when this gigantic body displays its maximum
charm. The Jog fall is an important source of water for
the Mahatma Gandhi hydro Electric project that was
started way back in1948.

9. Location- situated inside the Bhagwan Mahavir wildlife sanctuary
in Sanguem district of Goa close to the border with
Karnataka.
The name of this waterfall evolves from the Konkani name for the
falls, Dudhsagar meaning 'sea of milk'. This is because froth is
formed due to the speedy surge of water from the majestic
heights.
In spite of being a perilous spot due to its slippery rocks, it is a
popular site for trekking and hiking. The fall looks stunning
post monsoon as it ripples with bubbling foam-like
water. The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC)
runs tours to Dudhsagar on Saturday and Sunday from Panaji
and Calangute.

11. Location- The closest towns
to Courtallam are Sengottai
and Tenkasi at 5 km
respectively.
Courtallam or Kutralam, Spa of South India, is a
panchayat town situated on the Western Ghats in
Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu, India. Many
seasonal and few perennial rivers such as the Chittar
River, the Manimuthar River, the Pachaiyar River and
the Tambaraparani River originate in this region.
The falls carry a good amount of water only when there
is a rain on the hills, so it is advisable to see the
weather forecast, when one plans to come to
Courtallam . Season begins from June of every year till
September.
