The document discusses shot types and camera angles for a short teaser trailer. It notes that while many shot types are desirable, the short length makes some too complex to include. Tracking shots, mid shots, and close ups will feature instead of focus pulls. Camera angles will mainly use canted angles to induce confusion and high angles on a girl to portray her as small and powerless, with the option to switch to lower angles later. Experimentation during filming may substitute handheld shots or allow one focus pull.
2. What I can’t do. In planning, I am trying to include as many different shot types as possible. However, my product being a teaser trailer and quite short. I am going to find it quite difficult to fit some of these in. I unfortunately have had to cut out some of the more interesting shot types such as Focus Pulls as they seem too out of place within my product and I simply do not have enough time.
3. So what can I put in? Instead of the more complex shot types, I will be using more tracking shots and mid shots, with the odd close up. One major shot used will be tracking. Upon filming I will experiment with this and instead Imay switch to a handheld shot from the persons point of view. This will help with engaging the audience and relating to them. A factor I consider vital. I may be able to manage a focus pull on one of my ending scenes. As this is the ending, it will fit. Again, I will experiment and get a range of different shot types of the same thing when I am actually filming.
4. Camera Angles These will mainly include two which are slightly more of interest. The first being Canted Angles. These will be used to give a sense of confusion and disorientation in the audience. I do not want them to be settled while watching. I want them to be on their seats in anticipation. On edge. The second is High Angled. I will use these on the main little girl, the high angle gives us the impression that she is powerless, small. Throughout the piece an option I do have is to switch to lower angles, highlighting the change in power, the true force of the little girl.
