LIST OF CHALLENGING CLASSES
Rewards
Feel free to use the stickers as a reward or whatever else
you’d like to use. Extra stickers are at Glass in the desk
drawer.
Pawbucks at Glass, Glass is a PBIS campus. They reward
students for good behavior with Pawbucks. I will leave
some Pawbucks in binder. If you need more, please
contact donna.jordan@nisd.net

maybe a few
exceptional
students to get 1
sticker each.
Mainly for 3rd,
4th and 5th grade
classes.
Bathroom: I usually let them go one girl, one
boy. Kinder and 1st: Send in pairs.
TECH & ART SUPPLIES
I have different cameras at each camera. At Glass, I
use the ELMO. You can find the software for it under
START>IMAGEMATE>ELMO
At Powell. I have a HoverCam Flex. You can find the
green icon software for it on the desktop.
At both campuses I have a PC remote so I can access
computer from around the room.
At both schools please only use crayons, white drawing
paper, construction paper, color pencils, markers,
texture boards, dice and (if you’re feeling brave)
watercolor palette sets and oil pastels. Students may
ask to paint or use clay but inform they will be using
those materials when I come back.
At Powell, supplies are located in the Blue Shelves
between closet doors.
At Glass, supplies are located in front of window, closet
and on cart.

He’ll be your tech contact for both schools.
Clean Up Alarms are set on each computer at Glass
and Powell. They are set to ring 5 minutes before the
end of class. Students know their purpose. You can
edit them under START>ALARMS and CLOCK.
Art Lessons
● Following slides are visuals to show the students.
● Every lesson handout has a corresponding slide to show the
students but not all slides have a handout.
● Most lessons can be done in a single class.
● Lessons can be used for multiple grades and can be done in any
order.

● Some lessons might require handout copies to be made if you feel you
want them. (no copier code needed)

for time fillers.

Students will learn about line and shape,
so that they can follow directions to draw

they can follow directions to draw a
bunny and Box. They can turn the box
into something else using their
imagination.

shape will concentric lines and rainbow
colors.

Symmetrical Insect
Students will follow the steps to draw a large
symmetrical ant. Students will draw patterns in
the body, color and create a nice background.

(SW)Students will follow the steps to
draw an owlet. Students will draw owls
perched on a tree with branches. Can be
drawn with construction paper crayons
on black paper.

SW create a drawing and then use non
traditional colors for their drawings so
that their crayons “get a break” from
doing their usual jobs.

SW trace their shoe and create a fish out
of tracing. SW add fins, gills, eyes,
mouth and scales. Add an underwater

SW watch the story use a dice to decide
how they will draw a monster or 2. Color

lines, patterns, shapes and colors to
complete their creative cats.

SW use shapes to design six imaginary
bugs. Be sure to vary the shapes of
wings, bodies, legs and heads. Fill your
whole paper with insect drawing

Simple Succulent Draw Along
SW draw a succulent planter that takes up
most of the space on their paper. They will add
variety to their color with pattern and color.

create Op Art. Positive space (letter)
and negative space (background) will
have opposite color patterns to create
the optical illusion.

Theibaud. They will follow steps to draw
a 3D cake. Cakes can be a single layer or
stacked tiers.

SW use shapes and lines to design a
Variety of cactus in a pot. Please make
sure to add details and patterns to

objects with their choice of a color family.

Complementary Color
Portraits
SW create a self portrait using one pair of
complementary colors. SW understand that using
complementary colors next to one another makes
each color appear brighter.

Op Art Tubes
Students will use lines, shapes and a color
scheme create Op Art. A color scheme is
combination of only 2-4 colors. Use value to
add shadow and show depth or make it look

LIST OF CHALLENGING CLASSES Rewards Feel free to use the stickers as a reward or whatever else you’d like to use. Extra stickers are at Glass in the desk drawer. Pawbucks at Glass, Glass is a PBIS campus. They reward students for good behavior with Pawbucks. I will leave some Pawbucks in binder. If you need more, please contact donna.jordan@nisd.net * I have stickers at both Powell and Glass. I usually call one table that doing a great job or maybe a few exceptional students to get 1 sticker each. Mainly for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes. Bathroom: I usually let them go one girl, one boy. Kinder and 1st: Send in pairs.
  • 8. TECH & ART SUPPLIES I have different cameras at each camera. At Glass, I use the ELMO. You can find the software for it under START>IMAGEMATE>ELMO At Powell. I have a HoverCam Flex. You can find the green icon software for it on the desktop. At both campuses I have a PC remote so I can access computer from around the room. At both schools please only use crayons, white drawing paper, construction paper, color pencils, markers, texture boards, dice and (if you’re feeling brave) watercolor palette sets and oil pastels. Students may ask to paint or use clay but inform they will be using those materials when I come back. At Powell, supplies are located in the Blue Shelves between closet doors. At Glass, supplies are located in front of window, closet and on cart. Any Tech issues, please contact Hector Araujo @79528 or hector.araujo@nisd.net. He’ll be your tech contact for both schools. Clean Up Alarms are set on each computer at Glass and Powell. They are set to ring 5 minutes before the end of class. Students know their purpose. You can edit them under START>ALARMS and CLOCK.

Art Lessons ● Following slides are visuals to show the students. ● Every lesson handout has a corresponding slide to show the students but not all slides have a handout. ● Most lessons can be done in a single class. ● Lessons can be used for multiple grades and can be done in any order. ● K-1st (8 lessons) ● 2nd-3rd (8 lessons) ● 4th-5th (9 lessons) ● Some lessons might require handout copies to be made if you feel you want them. There also plenty of read alouds for time fillers.

  • 35. Can’t thank you enough for filling in for me these few months. I’m so grateful for the time I have with my baby boy. I know it’s an extra challenge being split between 2 schools and that that doesn't go unrecognized. You rock! And…. You’re truly a blessing. Gratefully, Christina James
