Christine is a highly skilled mediator who is specially trained as a Family
Mediator to ensure that the very best skills are available to you and can help
you make your own decisions about the future. Family Lawyers cannot offer
their clients Legal Aid, except in exceptional circumstances involving domestic
violence which must be evidenced. However, mediation with us may cost you
nothing. We can assess you to see if you qualify for Legal Aid funding for
mediation, if you are not eligible our fees are considerably lower than legal
costs.
All our staff hold fully enhanced current background (DBS) checks to give you
peace of mind. Everything you say during mediation is confidential. The only
exception to this would be if there are any safety concerns for family
members.
Mediation is all about talking constructively and working out the arrangements
for the future following family separation or family breakdown which includes
arrangements for your children, family relatives and financial arrangements.
The success of mediation is so well recognised by the Courts and the
Government as a positive alternative to Litigation that since April 2014 it has
been compulsory to attend an individual meeting with a mediator known as a
MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting) before you can apply
to the court. It is a forward thinking constructive approach to your difficulties.
The main aim of mediation is to keep you out of Court and to save time, stress
and money. The main focus is to help you reach your own solution after
separation to the issues you are currently facing. Mediation provides a neutral
forum for you to air your views.
Our purpose is to remain entirely neutral and independent and provide you
with support and guidance as to the law and your future.
Mediation can take place at various locations which includes;
Bawtry/Doncaster, Bircotes/Harworth, Worksop, Retford, Gainsborough,
Lincoln, Mansfield, Newark/Ollerton, Grantham, Scunthorpe and Chesterfield.
