2. Sign Ordinance
• Sec. 31-503 – Allowed without permit
• Election-season signs
– 90 days before through 10 days after election
– 6 sq ft—residential tract 1 acre or less
– 32 sq ft – residential tract + 1 acre, and commercial
– No more than 8’ tall
– Not illuminated
– No moving elements
– On private real property with owner’s consent
• Not public easement 2

3. Sign Ordinance
• Sec. 31-505 -- Prohibited signs
– Any sign except as allowed by this division
• There is no process for allowing signs on City property
– Any sign located in the ROW of a public street,
alley or thoroughfare.

• Chapter 393 & 394, Transportation Code
• Prohibits signs in the ROW of a public road
unless authorized by state law.
