Diabetes is a disease where blood glucose levels are too high due to problems with insulin production or regulation. High glucose levels over time can damage major organs like the heart, kidneys, eyes, and nerves. There are four main types of diabetes: type 1, type 2, gestational, and pre-diabetes. Uncontrolled diabetes increases the risk of serious health complications. However, diabetes can be managed through lifestyle changes like diet, exercise, and monitoring glucose levels.

Diabetes?
Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose also called
blood sugar is too high. Blood glucose is your main source of energy and it
comes from the food we eat. Its is important for us to informed ourselves on
what diabetes is and the importance of controlling our glucose levels. High
Glucose levels can cause short-term problems like hypoglycemia,
hyperglycemia, or diabetic ketoacidosis and in the long run not controlling
glucose it can caused major damaged to important organs, like the heart,
kidneys, eyes and nerves. Diabetes is the 7th leading caused of health
problems and death. Glucose is impacted not only by the food we intake but
also the lifestyle you have. There is many ways to prevent diabetes not only to
live a healthy life but also a happy life. In the fallowing slides I will talk about
facts, statistics, types of diabetes and show some ways on how to control it
and how to check yourself.

Undiagnosed: Of the 34.2 million adults with diabetes, 26.8 million
were diagnosed, and 7.3 million were undiagnosed.
Prevalence in seniors: The percentage of Americans age 65 and
older remains high, at 26.8%, or 14.3 million seniors (diagnosed and
undiagnosed).
New cases: 1.5 million Americans are diagnosed with diabetes every
year.
Prediabetes: In 2015, 88 million Americans age 18 and older had

level and weight loss can reverse the progress of the disease.
People with diabetes can live long and complication-free lives when it is properly
controlled.
10. Conclusion
There is no cure for diabetes, but most defiantly can be prevent it. Why
wait till is to late and have health and maybe even organ problems. Eat
healthy, exercise more and stress less. Healthy body and mind is a healthy
person. Don’t carry this depressing and hard disease and don’t be another
one in the million who suffer with disease. Check yourself and prevent it.
