I primarily grow in the Vallee De Mai on the Island of Praslin. My home is a Unesco World Heritage site. <ul><li>The reason why I created this show is because:- </li></ul><ul><li>I am unique </li></ul><ul><li>I am 100% natural </li></ul><ul><li>I am an icon </li></ul><ul><li>I represent the Seychelles people and no one else </li></ul><ul><li>Some countries use plants such as Tulips, Daffodils, Roses, Shamrock, Palm Trees as their national identity. </li></ul><ul><li>Some countries use animals such as Eagles, Kangaroos, Springboks, Oryx and Camels as their national identity. </li></ul><ul><li>Why are you ashamed of my shape? I was here before you!!! </li></ul>

Since I am a protected plant / seed (nut), I am not that readily available, but, I am always recreated in different forms to show my uniqueness as you will see in the photographs to follow. You will see me in all my glory, in my natural state, in gold, in silver, as a visa electron card, as an accessory on some postcards (you will soon know what I am talking about), as logos, as keychains, as an ash tray, as a fridge magnet to name a few. So, all I ask is that you view this presentation with an open mind and an open heart. Please don’t let others tell you what you can and what you can’t do with me for the sake of a few freebies. Have the decency to stand up for me, I represent you; the Seychelles people and our beautiful islands. Bring me back as a passport stamp again so visitors to our lovely shores can show that they have truly visited and been on the shores of Eden.

Disaster was averted thanks to the outstanding devotion to the duty of the Praslin and Mahe firefighters who were under the able command of </li></ul><ul><li>Mr. Ephrem Pool. </li></ul><ul><li>Mr Ephrem Pool was subsequently awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Year’s Honours list of 1959. </li></ul><ul><li>This plaque stands in recognition of and honours the efforts of Mr Pool and his team in preserving this World Heritage site for generations to come.” </li></ul>
