This document summarizes a data visualization challenge between Kobe and Barcelona that aimed to identify tourist spots and experiences in each city based on emotional language in social media posts and reviews. Key findings included comparing traditional tourist spots to spots identified from emotional tweets, comparing emotional tweets over different time periods, and using projection mapping to visualize changes in land use and elevation in Kobe City over time. The challenge sought to discover new attractions for tourists using subjective experiential data rather than solely objective data, and to provide new ways for citizens to explore and experience their own city.
