2013In 2013, the Columbus Region continued to march with purpose
toward its economic destiny. More people are living and working
in the 11-county region now than ever before, and our population
and economy are more diverse than at any time in our history.
The Columbus 2020 Regional Growth strategy is focused on
building the Columbus Region’s economic base by reaching out
to local companies, attracting market leaders and connecting
entrepreneurs with the resources they need to succeed. eighty-
eight companies chose to locate or expand within the Region
in 2013, announcing thousands of jobs that will be filled by
talented ohioans for years to come. Together with dozens of
organizations from throughout the Region, the Columbus 2020
team is making a difference.
while the strategy is important, action is paramount — and
to take action requires the steadfast support of leadership.
fortunately, the Columbus Region has more than its fair share
of future-oriented leaders from business, government and
academia. They are deeply committed to growing our economy
and creating an environment conducive to job creation.
The momentum is unmistakable and the results are tangible. with
a solid strategy, a bias for action and unwavering leadership, we
know the Columbus Region is well on its way to becoming one of
the most dynamic metropolitan areas in the United states.
sincerely,

  • 3. 2013In 2013, the Columbus Region continued to march with purpose toward its economic destiny. More people are living and working in the 11-county region now than ever before, and our population and economy are more diverse than at any time in our history. The Columbus 2020 Regional Growth strategy is focused on building the Columbus Region’s economic base by reaching out to local companies, attracting market leaders and connecting entrepreneurs with the resources they need to succeed. eighty- eight companies chose to locate or expand within the Region in 2013, announcing thousands of jobs that will be filled by talented ohioans for years to come. Together with dozens of organizations from throughout the Region, the Columbus 2020 team is making a difference. while the strategy is important, action is paramount — and to take action requires the steadfast support of leadership. fortunately, the Columbus Region has more than its fair share of future-oriented leaders from business, government and academia. They are deeply committed to growing our economy and creating an environment conducive to job creation. The momentum is unmistakable and the results are tangible. with a solid strategy, a bias for action and unwavering leadership, we know the Columbus Region is well on its way to becoming one of the most dynamic metropolitan areas in the United states. sincerely, kenny McDonald, CecD Chief economic officer Columbus 2020 1
