Reaching Male and Female Audiences Aged 16-25 with a House Music Magazine
1. What would be the
audience for your
media product?

2. Who?
• My audience will be male and female in order to get rid
of gender discrimination. The House genre will appear to
men and women as both male and female like to party, I
have made sure that females will be interested in my
magazine as I have included Female DJ’s in my contents
page and a love at first sight storyline which will be highly
appealing to my female audience. My magazine will
appear to a primary audience which is 16-25, I also have
a secondary audience which is 30+. DJ Tiesto is 46 years
old and there are people worldwide at the age of 40+ still
admiring his music.
3. Interests of my audience
• My audience will be interested in music, particularly the
younger generation, they will also be interested in social
media and outgoing activities. The younger generation will be
keeping up with the UK charts just like any other teenagers
and upcoming DJ’s that are visiting the UK. Magazines can be
advertised on social media, this has a huge impact on
magazines because magazines can also be advertised online,
this is a new convention which is used by all magazines
because their potential customers spend a lot of time on
social media, hence why I have chosen to advertise Haus of
Now on social media, this also allows my magazine to be
advertised worldwide and this gives the target audience a
quick access.
4. Income and expenses
• My target audience will be from all social classes as everyone
people from music all social classes listen to music. My
audience is a niche audience but a popular niche audience of
working class and lower middle class people who will either
have a full or a part time job, they will have disposable income
of £5.99 which is affordable, people will be willing to spend
£5.99 on a magazine if they do like house music and they will
be able to have disposable income to access music by going to
gigs, buying CD’s or buying music online.
