  1. Hello thank you for coming today we will be talking about the use of intergrading social media to your web page. Let’s get started, my name is Joshua Landy and I’m the account manager for Turn-Key Advertising Agency. Today we will be talking about the history to social media. Also we will talk about what Social media is and how it can impact your company. We will also talk about the social media for years to come. Then we will wrap this all up for you with the conclusion as to why it is important to jump on board and start using Social Media Marketing.
  2. For me, the first Internet based social media would have to be ARPANET also known as ” Advanced Research Projects Agency Network” (Wikipedia ARPANET) . This was is the first step to the World Wide Web. But back then it was used to send info between colleges. From there, was the first step in internet based Social Media. Then there was AOL, the leader in Social Media. But the major growth of Social media would have to be the use of Social Networks like Facebook and Twitter all the way down to Linkedin.
  3. Merriam-Webster Classifies Social Media as “forms of electronic communication (as Web sites for social networking and micro blogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (as videos)” (Merriam Webster Dictionary Social Media). There are many types of Social Media from text based to video based networking. A few of the most popular text based Social Media are Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. With video based Social media you have sites like YouTube Skype and OOVOO.
  4. With a wide demographic range of Social media users, it is not hard to have your brand message heard. With 75% of user’s being teens and 85% being Adults (Caridi) your advertising dollars and brand messaging can go a long way.
  5. According to eMarketer in 2011, they predicted that the Social Media would grow from 1.4 billion to a whopping 1.18 billion. And by 2012 88% of marketers will use some form of Social Media. With the growth of new countries into the market more user will join the social media trend and increase the market. This trend is because Social Media branched into an area such as Asia and Africa. With this growth there is no reason why you shouldn’t jump in and get your brand out there and heard by the masses. From a 2010 interview of Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook COO she said, they have 350 million users and “even at such big numbers, our growth is continuing and so continuing to be so strong. As you get big, it sometimes is easier to not grow at the same percentages and we are seeing incredible growth. I think, as importantly as a growth, is the continued engagement of our users. When I joined the company” (Arrington) . With this growth it make you wonder as why you would not want to jump in and be a part of getting your brand message out there to the small masses of Facebook.
  6. Not only are some of the top fortune 500 Company’s using Social Media also smaller one as well. As you can see this can turn into sales and used for market research at no cost to you. Now the question you much ask your self if they can do it why can’t you.
  7. Social Media can play a big role in the way your company can communicate with potential clients at a very low overhead cost. As Forrester Research puts it, “Social media has gone global: The majority of online adults in North America, Europe, metropolitan Asia, and Latin America use social media regularly” (Elliott and Sverdlov). Over the years Social media has played a big role that all companies are jumping in and getting their message out. Now, the impact it can have on your company could be increased in traffic to your site, it can lead to higher sales or service calls or whatever your company provides. Also, with the increase in traffic it can help with a better search result in search engines.
  8. Now you ask what can we do for you, well here at Turn-Key Advertising Agency, we will put our experience to work for you.
