2. You are now in third-level, I expect you to
behave as such.
I am not your secondary school teacher, it is
not my job to correct your behaviour and give
out to you if you don’t do your homework, or
if you misbehave in class.
No one is making you come to class, so if you
choose to come to class, I expect you to treat
your classmates, the classroom, and me with
respect.
3. That said, I want to make this experience as
much fun as possible.
I want to give you a five-minute break in the
middle of each class, so after half an hour I
will stop don’t what I’m doing and give you
something else to do for a few minutes.
If I forget to give you a break after 30
minutes of teaching, will you let me know.
I will give a five minute break every day that
everyone is showing respecting for the
classroom experience.
4. I have three different exam papers written for
this module:
◦ One is fairly easy
◦ One is medium
◦ One is hard
Your behaviour will determine which paper
you are getting.
5. I don’t want anyone coming into class 15
minutes after the hour, if anyone does the whole
class (not just your classgroup) earns one
“demerit”.
I don’t want to have to ask anyone to be quiet in
class, if I have to, the whole class (not just your
classgroup) earns one “demerit”.
I don’t want anyone disrespecting their
classmates, the classroom, or me, if this
happens, the whole class (not just your
classgroup) earns one “demerit”.
6. One “demerit” means that I an not going to
give you the next five-minute break.
◦ Between zero and five “demerits” by November 1st
means you are all getting the fairly easy exam
paper.
◦ Six to fourteen “demerits” by November 1st means
you are all getting the medium exam paper.
◦ Over fifteen “demerits” by November 1st means you
are all getting the hard exam paper.
