20. Academic History
• Applied business - I took applied business while in
secondary school, and I had a fantastic teacher who
inspired me delve deep into the subject. He inspired me to
continue to progress my future in 2 subjects. Which were
business and media.
• Media studies level 2 – media studies taught me many new
editing techniques which I have applied to my work. I
mainly think about the music video and print topics, which I
enjoyed to create.
• Café work/food hygiene - working a proper job taught me
discipline and quality. At work I make sure my customer
service is on point, and in combination with my Distington
in speaking, I feel like I do a good job at serving customers.
21. Current Study
Media studies level 2 – studying media studies
has been an opening experience for me. Ive
learned a lot over the past year and its
continued to inspire me to think out of the box.
I want to continue and progress my experience
to a university course. I aim to go into social
media and private entrepreneurship, on a
platfor like youtube. This would help with video
editing.
In the last year, I made everything from a stop
motion animated game to a newspaper.
22. The Future
I want to adventure into a few different markets, which all consist of
media work:
YouTube – YouTube is a big stretch when it comes to developing a
product that people want to watch. However I have watched YouTube
for a long time and I would like to create content which I think will be
interesting. This would be helpful to use some new techneques that I
can learn in the next year of college and a few years at university.
Instagram.socal media advertising: advertising on ocial media has been
on the rise as of late, and using my media project skills , I can target
adds correctly to customers.
• University
• Private or partnered entrepreneur in subjects like graphic design or
advertisement.
23. Outside College
Outside of college, I'm interested in 3 things:
1 - café/front of house working. This includes things like communication with
customers and creating an inviting and comfortable environment for customers.
Looking into what works with customer relations and what doesn’t.
2 – YouTube and social media. Growing up in this generation exposed me to the
development and involvement of social media, as well as the impact it had on the
generation before and after social media was created.
3 – Swedish. I spent my middle teen era growing up in contact with other people
my age, living in Sweden. It provided me with a separate outside opinion of political
and cultural subjects. I spent part of my life learning the language as it might
provide me with some opportunities in that country.
24. Conclusion
• Further education will however open connections
for me.
• Having a university will justify my work because if
I can get a degree in a Media subject, then I will
look more professional.
• I will enjoy further studies, because there are
plenty of subjects within media which inspire
me.
• Finding new techniques and outlooks is why
people go to university, and an inspiring reason
for me.
25. Introduction/personal statement
University does 2 primary things for students. Improving
their ability, and opening connections. And I would like to
get both from a university that I would like to go to.
Improving me techniques would be the main criteria
which incentivises me to approach a university. Being
shown different ways to create and advertise products is
incentivising for me to look for a good university.
The other reason I would look for a university is to make
connections with other students and staff at the
university, this is too finding other people who are aiming
to take the same graphic design/ advertising route as me.
This can improve my quality of work as it will allow me to
work as a team and not just by myself.
